Was thinking of going to Trail's End for dinner with DH and twin DS'.

Looking at menu it says "pasta" - anyone know what kind of pasta they have?
Also, can anyone tell me how the food is there?

Was thinking of a 5:30 ADR then heading over to MK for the 8pm wishes fireworks.

its a waste of time. The food is medicore and its takes FOREVER to get there and back to anyplace

Our experience at Trails End was very good. We enjoyed the food and thought the price was "reasonable" considering you are at WDW. As far as the pasta question goes, it just depends on the chef that day.

I'd agree it takes a while to get there. Are you driving or relying on WDW transportation? There is a boat that will take you from the MK to FW thats really close to Trails End. But if you drive or bus there, you need to take the internal FW bus to get back to where Trails End is.

You may want to read the dining reviews here when trying to decide. :disrocks:

Breakfast or dinner....best all around...we prefer it to TS meals anywhere......boat ride is alot of fun, great way to get away from the crowds of the parks....we never miss doing a breakfast and dinner...

Thanks for the link to the reviews

We like having dinner there. It's usually our first meal of the trip. The food has always been consistantly good.

I would think you could get some plain cooked pasta - it would be whatever shape they are using for the pasta dish. Also they usually have mac and cheese.

We also have had a good experiance with Trails end. An early reservation is good for dinner. I like it for a day NOT spent in the parks. It is ALOT easier to park @ WDW resort and take the boat , rather than busing it...AlOT easier.

We enjoy having an early dinner -letting the kids play on swings , maybe a carriage ride or my favorite is after dinner head over and join the Chip n Dale campfire sing along ..it's a good time for young ones ( me too) very relaxing .
The food is good.. fried chicken and ribs ( like the hoop de doo) peel n eat shrimp , carving station, pastas. mac and cheese. salads. And like someon else posted its very resonable. If you have little kids you won't be disappointed...don't just go for food..make it a relaxing evening on a bit of a budget. It has become a must do for me. Great for the first day you fly in.
go on Try it :goodvibes

We gave this a shot on a trip in the summer of 09. We loved it and have been back 3 more times. We always leave full and happy. :goodvibes

My husband specifically asked to go there again this trip, that said, we aren't going to. LOL But he did really like it. I just don't want to go all the way to Ft. Wilderness since we aren't staying there. We stayed at the cabins last trip. Plus I want to try new stuff this trip. :)

Glad to see other TE lovers out there. This is one of our family's favorite buffets on property. Food is good for a buffet but the selection is a little small. Not a lot of variety like Boma due to the size of the venue.

We don't mind the travel time as it allows us to relax and unwind a little. We usually stay on property so we'll catch a boat to FW.

DH was just talking about how much he enjoyed Trail's End. I'd go so far as to say it's the best dinner buffet we've had on property. The price is very reasonable and the waitstaff was very friendly!

We ate at Trail's End this past February -- my sixth dinner visit in twenty-five years. It wasn't remotely full and waiters were friendly and attentive. While the buffet is still the best priced in WDW, I wouldn't suggest a special trip unless you are already staying in the MK resort area. It's simply too much of a hassle for a merely good buffet.

We are only going to the park that night - will be doing other things (staying at hotel or Downtown Disney or mini golf earlier in the day).

We are going our first day at WDW. As we are flying in pretty early and will have been up for many hours, i thought the trip there on the boat might be nice and relaxing for all of us.

Getting to Trails End is half the fun, going by boat or bus though the campgrounds. The food has always been good and it's all you can eat, and usually not overly crowded, plus there is amble room around the tables so you don't feel like someone else is eating off your plate, like in a few other Disney Restaurants, Plus the costs is actually a good buy.

DH and I enjoyed the buffet. It's nothing exotic but the food was good, the restaurant was quiet and the staff were friendly. We stayed for the movie and campfire afterwards... so much fun!!!

I was just about to post the same question! We have TE on our list for April trip, but I hadn't heard too much about it. Glad to hear that it is good!

Is the boat only from MK or is there a boat from WL to FW?
