Trail's End and Crystal Palace

I have never had breakfast at Trails End just lunch and it was pretty good. The character breakfast at Crystal Palace was wonderful. We really enjoyed eating and looking out at the castle. We all LOVED the french toast.

We just got back this week from 7 days at Disney. We had 2 PS dates for the Crystal Palace because last year this was my kids favorite place. We were so upset with both visits this year.

First visit - Lunch - Seated within 10 minutes, great food, good service from our waiter. However, we waited over 1 hour and only got a greet from Pooh and Tigger. The other 2 were still in the other section when we decided it was time to go. This was okay with my kids since they knew we would be back in 2 days.

Second Visit - Breakfast - Waited 40 minutes after our PS time to get seated (not a good start with a toddler). The food was great. The character interaction was again aweful! 70 minutes and still no Piglet. Our waitress also did not return with our check until I hunted her down. She seemed surprised that our children did not want to wait longer to see Piglet. On our way out, we did run into a management type person. We stopped and told him of all of our waits and he did say "sorry" but nothing more. I am not sure that we expected anything but I felt it was worth mentioning since we had waited almost 2 hours through this breakfast ordeal. By the time we left, my kids were crabby.

As you can see, great food was there at both visits. However, if you are going with kids be prepared to wait to visit with the characters.

I really love Trails End. In my opinion it is the best meal value on Disney property. We ate there on Wednesay morning and the buffet was great. (and cheap too)
My mother was with us this trip and she is always watching her cholesterol intake so they made her a special meal at no extra charge.
The buffet had Mickey waffles, breakfast pizza, french toast, bagels, cereal, fruit etc. Oh, almost forgot the great donuts!!!

Outside the resturant are porch rockers. While I took pictures, my husband sat down to read the paper and enjoy the scenery. There is also a playground not far from the resturant, as well as animals. It is not as hectic as one of the park/resort resturants and it is a nice break from the crowds.

They do not have PS, but the wait was only 5 minutes and this was Easter week! Service was very good and fast.

After the meal, it is a nice boat ride to MK.

We love Trails End's breakfast! We have been going for years. My three teens absolutely insist that we go there!

We ate at Trails End once many years ago. It was the exact same breakfast, even an omlette maker guy, as the nreakfast we had in the Contemporary a day or two earlier. Really, the exact same breakfast. This will give an idea of how long ago, the Cont meal was $14.95(now $19.95) and the TE was either $6.95 or $7.95

Crystal Palace is one of the must do's every year on our WDW trips. We have only been for breakfast and LOVE it. The food is very good, the characters are fun, and the restaurant is very pretty. I would suggest this one for sure!
