Anyone know what kind of arrangements are available for parking a 16ft. box trailer at DVC resorts. We are considering a few options for our Bike Week vacation next year and are debating over spending half or the full week at a WDW DVC.

Does anyone have any experiance doing this and care to share their thoughts?

As we would like to have access to both the bikes and the Truck during the time at DVC I was curious if anyone was able to keep their trailer close by.

Thanks
Shamus

We stay at the BWV and a have seen a few mobile homes parked at the back of the self park lot so there shouldn't be any trouble there....but not sure about the other resorts...

I think a 16 ft will be okay - it is 22 ft and more that have to go to a special parking place.

I just realized something - with your car and the trailer is it more than 22 ft????

I am not sure how DVC counts the feet - do they include the car - or is it just the trailer?

I would call the resort and ask.

I know OK limits motor homes to 24 feet, my guess is you'll have to park it over at PO if the resort is full.

It depends which resort you are staying at.

We drive down in our 33 ft motorhome and depending on which resort we are at, they will have different rules.

For OKW, you cannot park it there. They will let you drive in, check-in, unload, but then you have to park over at Port Orleans. If you drive by Port Orleans, you will always see the large motorhomes towards the back of the lot where the taxis hang out - this is the designated area.

If you are at BCV, the parking lot is huge and you just park in the back of the lot.

We haven't had experience at any others, but, it is best if you call ahead to the front desk and ask.

Why bother with the trailer, why not just ride the bikes? :moped:

LOL - I get that alot from my "Hard Core" Biker friends. Driving 1000 miles each way with the risks of hitting all types of weather is my main reason to sticking with the trailer ;)

k_k_100 - Bike Week 2005 is March 4-13

Thanks for your help everyone. I was told that BCV and BWV will allow you to use their overflow lots if not the main ones. In any case I'll be calling the resort before we arrive to double check.

There always seems to be at least one big motor home 35' or bigger in the BCV lot every time we are there. I am so jealous of those beautiful motor homes! (They are parked way out in the lot closest to the villas.)
