Trail ride reservations?

Camped at FW many times but have never done the trail ride. Planning on it during our December trip, but not 100% sure. Does anyone know if you have to make reservations in advance? If you do and then cancel, is there a cancellation fee? TIA

Just looked at our information from the last trip. They take reservations for the 45 minute trail ride. 407-WDW-Play, or visit the front desk. Not sure how busy they would be during December. And it has nothing about cancelling though in the flyer.

We booked at the ticket window at the office close to the stables. Building located on edge of the overflow lot and beside the grassy extra overflow lot. We did this the day of. This was in November, week before Thanksgiving.
