Please hold your children tight and remind them of safety rules!
My SIL 9 year old step son was tragically killed on saturday night on accident. He went into a storage shed and used a chair to stand on. I guess the chair tipped over and he got got up in a chain of some sort and was accidentally hung. My poor SILs dh found him like this and sadly it was too late.
I can not even imagine what they are going thru nor do I know what to do for them. The whole thing is just so sad. We do not know when the funeral will be yet.
My 9 year old DS was buds with him and I am not real sure how he is taking it. So far he seems ok but with kids you never can tell.
I am just so saddened for everyone involved. I can't get it out of my mind. I wish I knew how to help them other than saying I'm sorry.

Oh my goodness. I am so sorry to hear of this loss for your family. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time. I have two children and I can't imagine losing them. I will heed your wishes and give them an extra hug and kiss today.

How sad :(

I'm sorry for your family's loss.

 Deepest sympathy and prayers for comfort and peace during this most difficult of times.

:sad1: OMG How terrible.
I'm so sorry for you family's loss.
Do keep a close eye on your DS. He'll deal with it in his own way and in his own time, but he may need you to be there when it really "hits home". Things like this really remind you of how fragile life really is. :grouphug:

I am so sorry!!!! I read about this on another board I am on! Small world.......

My prayers are with you all...

I am sure my SIL and her DH aprreciate your well wishes and prayers. Thank you all.
Does anyone any inkling of what we can do to help them in this horrible time? My mind is blank in that regards and all I can think of is just how sad it is. I would appreciate any ideas you all may have.

OMY! How tragic! Prayers for your entire family.

How about setting up a memorial fund for him, perhaps something he was interested in: If he liked box car racing- maybe hold an annual race once a year in his honor. If he was a Boy Scout- maybe have a fundraiser to gain awareness of safety issues. Use this to educate kids about home dagers...
Keep his memory alive, by saving lives through education.

How horrible. :( I'm so terribly sorry for your family's loss.

I'm sorry for your family's loss. Somehow that doesn't seem like enough to say but my prayers are with you.
