tragedy at six flags last night (due to employee negligence?)

It's pretty awful that the kids were riding with her when it happened.

Accidents in theme parks always have a cause and unfortunately it's usually human error. I would have no qualms in making sure I was properly restrained and demanding to get off if I felt unsafe in light of that...

Such a tragic accident, the fact her son was with her makes it infinitely worse.

This has been discussed in great detail on a different coaster forum and the speculation is the lap bar locked but due to the size of the individual it didn't properly sit against their legs and allowed them to slide out.
