We drove that highway a couple of years ago and it seemed like everyone was going at least 10mph over on the normal lanes!!!!

That is LA. You will be lucky if you see a cop.

Sad actually. My bro and I broke down near Valencia years ago,(car overheated),outta 'nowhere' CHiPs shows up and tells us,"You can't stay here". Thanks alot Sherlock,I'll just put the car on my back and carry it to the next exit. It was in an area that had been leveled for new construction and we were a good 50' off I-5.

Just amazed at how tru the staement is. You just do not drive thru Or or Wa above the speed limit like they do in So Cal, your wallet will be real empty. Sorry to hear about your experience.

I've got a funny story about driving the I-5 in CA. DH and I were on our last leg of our drive to DL last year, and every so often a black porsche with the plate "DRBOTOX" kept smoking past us at a high rate of speed. Around 30 miles up the road we found him pulled over by one of Californias finest getting a speeding ticket. Then around 10 - 15 mins later he would smoke past us again at a high rate of speed, and you guessed it...eventually caught up to him around 30 miles down the road getting another ticket. This happened around 4 to 5 times that day. Hope he could afford all those tickets.

I'm sure he'll argue in court that he 'needed' to get somewhere. Saw the same thing (kinda) on I-8 years ago. Family in a Beemer w/Colo plates went haulin,,,,tail past us,10 miles down the road they got a "Hello" from DPS.

Our experience on the I-5 was my husband franticly trying to keep up with traffic when my 8 year old DD announced that she needed him to pull over because she was going to throw up. Then imagine my frazzled husband yelling, "there is no where to pull over!!!" and my DD puking all over the rental car! ahh memories!
