Hello!!

If I need to board the Dream at 11:30 in the morning on a Friday in August, what time should I leave WDW by car? I will be dropped off and do not need to park. Is there usually traffic in the morning?

Thanks!!!!

We have gone to the port from WDW many times in the morning and have not had traffic. I do avoid I-4 at all costs, though. I take 417 to the Beachline.

I like to be at the port when it opens at 11:00 and you will have to check in at the port before you board so also aim to be at port by 11:00. Leave WDW about 9:30-9:45 to give you a bit of extra time.

Got to agree with MJ (above) on this. If you take 417 to the Beachline you'll avoid all traffic issues.

Just another recommendation to avoid I-4. 417 is a toll road, but well worth the savings in time.

As others have stated 417 to 528 (Beachline) is the way to go. Well worth the $5.00 in tolls. The trip should take about 60-70 minutes (depending where at WDW you are staying).

This may be a little redundant at this point but I'll add my recommendation to avoid the I-4.

We've driven the route 4 times now and the drive itself is about an hour, then add at least another 1/2 hour for the faffing around dropping off\parking the car, etc.

So assume at least 1 1/2 hours from leaving your resort to standing in the long slow line to enter the port.

To be honest though it doesn't really matter. Your boarding time will put you into a boarding category (1 is usually platinum CC members and Concierge, 2 is the first of the Gen Pop). But the number you get it pre-determined.

If you arrive late for your boarding number you'll be allowed join straight into the currently boarding line, and as the rooms aren't available until 13:30 it's not a biggie.

Just don't get there after sail away time. They wont wait! ;)
