traffic from HRH to MCO

Can anyone tell me what the traffic is like on Monday afternoons. Our flight leaves MCO at 5:45 pm. If we leave Hard Rock at 4:00; am I allowing enough time? Don't know if rush hour traffic needs to be factored in. Thanks

You shouldn't have any problem I-4 to Beach Line to MCO. You are safe between 1530 and 1630.

I personally think that is cutting it too close. I try to allow at least 1 1/2-2 hours at MCO to return the car, check luggage, and get through the security lines (which can be daunting).

It may work but only if all things go in your favor. In other words 1:45 is about the minimum required time. Figure 30 minutes to airport and car return - possibility 45 minutes thru security (maybe less - no guarantees) - 15 minutes getting around airport = grand total of 1:30

Delays on Road
Delays returning rental car
Delays getting thru security

Remember that even though flight is leaving at 5:45 you have to present yourself at gate 15 minutes before (or your seat may be given away) and check in begins at least 15 minutes before - so you have to be there no later than 5:30 - as I said your departure time is minimum travel time.

My opinion and if it were me I would leave at 3:00 and take leisurely trip to airport - have something to eat and get to gate early.
