Well, the family decided to meet up at WDW for Xmas this year. I'm now looking for villas for the 6 adults, 2 kids, and toddler. With the budget I've been given (all in 1000, but i think that's hard so i can convince them to spend 100-200 more), i'm finding w/ xmas rates that i can't stay at the closest areas.

Sooooo... my question is which villa area (excluding the windsor palm/formosa area) would be best given the christmas traffic? And how long would the commute be to WDW from that location during christmas season?

I totally understand about having a low budget and trying to find good accommodations. I have stayed off of 192 East and 192 West. We think the traffic is a little better on the 192 West side. We have been staying in Davenport the past two trips and we like it there. It is quiet and the drive is not that bad. We stay in developments off of 27. I would try to get a villa that is only 2-3 miles down 27 from the junction of 192. No matter what, you will want to leave early to beat the traffic, but also because the parks will be busy. The traffic shouldn't be too bad first thing in the morning. It will take you 10 minutes (15 if you hit every light) to get to the Sherbeth Road shortcut that is right near the Formosa Gardens area. Use the shortcut, it will save you time because you don't keep hitting traffic lights. The only time we found the traffic to be a problem was at 5 pm heading towards Davenport on 192. We went during President's week which isn't as busy as Christmas, but still pretty busy. In my search for homes for next February, I have noticed that Lindfields has some pretty good prices. It is still in Kissimmee on 192 West. I have also found good prices in High Grove in Davenport. A lot of the homes in High Grove have 2 king bed master suites which we want. Here is a map of 192. It might be helpful for you to decide if you can see what is around for restaurants and businesses around the community that you choose. http://www.kissimmee-us192.com/map/ushwy192mapindex.htm
Good luck.

We are going this Christmas and are staying in Westridge on Rt 27. We have stayed at many of the vacation developments in Davenport. Our favorite is in Westridge. Very quiet and easy to get to 192

The last two Christmases we have spent at Celebration World - a resort beyond Windsor Hills and Westgate off 192. Last year I remembered why I detest dealing with any 192 driving that time of year. It is a parking lot and can add 30-50 minutes to an otherwise 10-15 minute drive. I ended up finding back routes through Disney or utilizing the toll road/I4 to avoid 192 (it was well worth the $.35 toll believe me!)

I would avoid any resort/hotel that requires using 192 near Disney during the Christmas/New Years week unless you know there are alternate routes. It is just too frustrating to deal with when you're trying to enjoy a vacation.
