What are some traditions your family does at WDW? Oct will be our 2nd trip and I hope there will be many more. I am hoping for a family tradition for us.

TIA!

I went to WDW with dh when I was pg with my son. I sat in the yellow chair in Minnies house for my picture. The next time we went my ds was 16 months, same chair new picture. Then my dd was born and sat in the same chair with both kids. Just went in May and we got our picture in that same chair. So that is my tradition. Getting a picture taken in the same place each visit. We are going again next year, and I will have a picture taken then too.

Here is the most recent picture:

Umm...our only real tradition is to ride Splash Mountain over and over and over again in a row on EMH nights. LOL Can't get enough of "The Laughing Place". :)

I have always gone to Chef Mickey's for dinner! I didn't have as much time planning this trip, so I was only able to get Chef Mickey's for breakfast.

This is the first time with DDP and it's free!

We always eat at Crystal Palace, and we always eat one "fancy" dinner at a signature restaurant. Hmmm... Those both involve food!:rotfl2:

We missed it one year, but we like to get our family picture at the totem pole of Wilderness Lodge.

We always eat a Mickey bar at Animal Kingdom. More food!!

So far, we have always started Disney Studios with Star Tours. I am trying to talk my DS out of that one. I don't think it is a good strategy now that we do bigger rides and with the addition of Toy Story Mania. We'll see...

We've taken our 4 1/2 y/o twins to WDW 4 times since they turned 2 1/2 y/o. We've always stayed at ASMovies, and every time we go we take their picture standing next to the little dalmation statue near the big tv statue there. I can see how much they are growing in each picture! :cloud9: We also take pics of each of them in the yellow chairs at Minnie Mouse's house in Magic Kingdom. And we always eat one meal at the Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom.

We always do the Hoop Dee Doo Revue the first night we are there. It kicks of the vacation just right! Then we are singing the song all week! LOL

We always have our first dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern and we always wear matching shirts for our family photo in front of the castle on Main St on our first night in MK (which is always our first park).

This year there will be 13 of us dressed alike taking the photo and then heading to Libery Tree. It is an awesome GRAND GATHERING!!!

Can't wait only 34 more days.....:cool1: :hourglass :yay:

Let's see - we have a few:

  • Picture with Goofy on Main Street. We have been going since my oldest son was 2 1/2 and Goofy is a definite reminder of how big he has gotten.
  • Taking my kids' picture on the teacups. This is my DH's favorite tradition. He puts these pictures on his desk at work.
  • Eating schoolbread in Norway - just has to be done
  • At the end of a long day as we are walking out of the park, my oldest DS and I dance our way down the street. My oldest DS is now 11 and this is the only place he would be seen acting completely silly withi his mom. This is also the only place where he insists on holding my hand.
  • We have a candy hunt in Epcot. I give each of the kids' $20 and they spend the day buying candy at each country for us to take home and enjoy later.

I am sure there are more. These are just the things off the top of my head. There are certain silly things that I usually don't remember until we get to the park and the boys remind me.

We always go to epcot on our first day and we eat in Norway with the Princesses we have been doing this for the past 3 trips. My DH even brings it up to make sure I make our ADR.

I am sure we will start another tradition once DS is a little older

Our last day at Disney is the same every trip-we get the last seating at Boma for breakfast and have a nice leisurely meal. Then we visit some of the resorts just to walk around and check the scenery out. Once we've had our fill we head to DD and do some shopping and top it off with a late lunch/early dinner at EOS (sometimes with dessert at Ghirardelli) and then head off to the airport.

Our final breakfast is always at CRT...to me, it's the perfect way to end our vacation...

Thank you so much everyone!

When we went 2 yrs ago we went to Mickey's BYBBQ and took the boat over to he MK to show the kids some Magic....it wasn't a lot of time there, but it was their 1st time! This year I am thinking of doing the same (with the MK) since it will be my inlaws 1st time there.

We have ADRs for WC at WL.

Thanks again!

Dinner at Chef Mickey and purchasing the photo package have become a tradition for us. This year the kids and I are going to FL ahead of DH, but we saved our CM ADR for the night he arrives:).

We love to eat at the Kona cafe at the Poly. We also are also pin traders. We have made it a tradition to end our stay at WDW by having lunch at the Kona Cafe then taking the mono to the GF check out the gift shop and cm's lanyards, then to the contemporary to do the same thing. We go downstairs to the boat and over to the Wilderness Lodge (My DS says the CM's there have the BEST pins) Then take the boat from there to MK the boat from MK to the Poly or catch the bus to the resort depending on where we stayed or where we parked. So that's our tradition...we make the rounds through all the major resorts checking out the giftshops and pin trading. I think it's not a tradition for everyone but we LOVE it. It's "our thing"

...t.

The first night we always eat at LTT. The following morning and last day morning we eat at CP.

First evening at DW, we go to Downtown Disney and eat at Earl of Sandwich... YUMMY.. Shop and do DisneyQuest.:cutie:

The two times we have been as a family we did the leave a legacy thing at Epcot. Last time was in 2003, I don't even know if they still do it??? Does anyone know.

I know they discontinued doing the photo tiles last May or June. I'm not sure if they will do a text tile still.

We don't really have very many. We eat at the Biergarten at least once every trip. Eat @ Caseys, get my ds a tshirt with the gang & yr. on it.
