Trading?

Just curious as to what this means. How does it work?

not sure what you mean.

if i have a lot of DVC points, i can call member services and trade out of the DVC system for disney cruises, fancy hotels like the hotel del coronado, adventures by disney trips to peru or for a timeshare in oregon. but it's typically a bad value for what i get in return (and most of those trades are not an option for current resale purchasers)...and if i cancel, i can no longer use those pts within the DVC resort system.

i can also make a reservation at OKW with my pts and try to trade my reservation with someone who has BLT pts and can book there at 11 months out to get a reservation at BLT that i would like. but the logistics of this sort of trade are complicated to the point where it is virtually never done.

i'm sure there might be other possibilities i'm not thinking of...
