trading spouses

I didn't see the first half of the show, but the second half was enough for me :rotfl: . I felt horrible for the daughters (and the hubby too I suppose). It would be really interesting to see a follow up show and hear how the daughters and husband felt about her behavior and if things are still that way.

I don't think the daughters and husband have the guts to say anything. She's got them all so tightly wound up in her pathetic little drama, they're too scared to even blink in her direction. You could see the misery in the husband's eyes during her tirade and it became more obvious when he swore at her under his breath. Sad, really...

I can't remember the last time I scheduled time to watch a specific episode of a TV show!

She scared me, too. I think she even scared her own family!

I'd like a follow up show, too!

Too bad the other mom didn''t tell her to spend it on psychic readings, gargoyle art, stars and hypnotherapy.

That lady needs help. Maybe I'm wrong, but the area does seem to have a reputation for all kinds of religions, including some from "the Dark Side", I can't imagine that she had "never been exposed to it." What a horribly ignorant woman.

That new age husband was a saint, putting up with her like that. And believe me, I'd have let her know how incredibly rude, obnoxious and unprofessional she was to his friend the psychic

I'm so embarassed. That woman lives in the same parish I do. I just hope people in other places don't think we're all wacko.

BTW, I thought the "dark side" house was a beautiful home. I never saw where the husband (Chris) was forcing his views on anyone. I thought he was a little too passive and quiet considering the situation.

I laughed so hard at the end when it said she decided to take the money after all. I knew she would. :rotfl2:

If you don't mind me asking what denomination? On another board some people thought Catholic but I disagreed...

Were you asking me?

I don't know.

Oh...maybe you're confused because I said "parish". I meant region...not church. Sorry. I didn't think about everyone else calling them counties.

Can I just say, that woman has SEVERE mental illness... I have never seen anything like her tirade IN MY LIFE... I was very upset over it.

I didn't see the first episode, but from what I saw last night, that husband was nothing but accomodating!?! Even bringing the woman to church?! She was totally crazy....

The hypnotherapist's family is from our area & we did see her on TV. They had her on before the show aired & I forget what she said!

I felt so sorry for Crazy Lady's daughters & granddaughter during that tirade! They looked so scared, embarrassed, and upset. I guess I don't feel much sympathy for the husband because, what kind of man puts up with that around his kids and grandkid? I'm pretty sure that if all my screws came loose at the same time like that woman's obviously did, my DH wouldn't just sit back and let me terrorize the family!

Also, I felt bad that so much money was allocated for the older DD and her child, but nothing was specifically left for Brooke. My heart just went out to that poor, sweet girl through the whole show!

Brooke received $5000 for her dance certification.

I think she's the type of woman that never leaves her house - even her friends come there to visit. She couldn't handle the tiniest little problems, I think she's extremely sheltered (by choice, I believe). Chris was nothing but kind to her when it was obvious that she didn't deserve kindness. I was worried when Jeanne was believing Margaret and blaming Chris - did anyone notice that she never hugged Chris or seemed too happy to see him when she got home? I wonder about that marriage, hopefully it was the editing. She kept touching the kids and never got close to DH.

I can't believe that woman gave the boys all that money and the girl so little.

Again, I'll go back to the question I always ask about these shows, WHY DID SHE (Margaret) AGREE TO GO ON THIS SHOW? Did she think they would put her in a bible thumping home around the corner from her own house? I totally get why the SHOW would want her on, but why would she want to do it? The money? How ignorant.

I dont think she is Catholic but did go to a Catholic church with the other "family". She was screaming at her dh how dark-sided it was at that house and she even went to a Catholic church--sounded like she was desperate for a church.
She looked like a spoiled brat. She was mad at the other family because they didnt want to go to church with her and because they happy with their lifestyle. We she got home she only hugged Ashely then went into her fit. She didnt even hug her other family member. then to start screaming at them because of the other family lifestyle was just nuts. Her poor family just looked horrified. I hope when that woman looks at the show she sees what a nut she really is.

Oh, good! I thought that it was Ashley who received the $ for the dance certification!

I felt sorry for the kids! Did you see the looks on their faces as she was screaming? If she acts like that with camera's rolling, what must the house be like when they are alone? Do you think she acted that way just for the camera's or is she really crazy? She has to be one of the most "un" christian persons I have ever seen!

This woman's extreme behavior was so bizarre, that I have to question how real this was. Isn't November sweeps month? Don't you think the possibility exists that this reaction was all staged like an act for rating purposes?

I TIVO'd it (actually, DH did...LOL). I can't wait to watch...sounds good.

I don't think they ever said what denomination she was.

I am not sure. She took them to a Catholic church but gave them King James Bible (protestant).

ETA: Her daughter has a daughter and is not married. How do you think her religious belief handled that?

so, I'm confused- why was she so upset? was it b/c she was unhappy the way the money was allocated?

She was upset b/c she had to go live in the house with tarot cards, psychics, astrology and all the other "Satanic" things. She was just incredibly rude. She makes Christians look bad is all I have to say.

I also live not far from the Ponchatoula area. On Friday, two days after the first half of the episode aired, I met my friend at a local restaurant for lunch. Guess who was sitting two tables away? MARGARET! Several people asked her if she was the lady from "Trading Spouses" and she said yes. Believe me, she enjoyed the attention that she got. She dressed for attention as well....she had her hair done (it was dyed a pretty auburn color), she was wearing makeup, and she wore this big velvety-looking burgundy cape. Yes, a cape. Her daughter Ashley was with her, and several other ladies. The blonde snotty one wasn't there, though.

OMG! I missed the first half, but caught last night. I felt so sorry for Margaret's family! She really reminded me of growing up with my bipolar mother, who also happens to be very religious. Not bashing those of faith at all, I know people who really draw strength from religion. But my mom would go off on tears like that, over seemingly little things, and you had no idea what set them off or what you did, etc. I missed the last minute or so--VCR cut out--but I was so hoping that Margaret's family would get money to get her decent psychotherapy. Seriously, there is something wrong with her that has nothing to do with religion.

And I thought it was extrememly unfair that she gave the boys each $3000 and the daughter only $1800 (to spend with mom's help). Esp. since she didn't specify where the rest of the $ was to go. Did I miss something where she was deliberately slapping the girl in the face?
