Trading Spouses What a Silly Woman

But - in her defence - I DO have to agree with her on a couple of points...lot sizes in California seem very very small...and yes, 3 or 4 house in California COULD fit on one plot of land in Massachusettes (Specifically Western mass - the berkshire area I believe she said she was from...I grew up in Western Mass...the lot sizes ARE larger...even in my first home in CT...you could fit 4 house in my neighborhood on the land my parents have.)

You are sooo correct. We lived in Tracy, Ca and our backyard was 6 feet from back door to fence. Yes, S-I-X feet.

I thought CA neighbors were very rude and the family not much better. How could they have such a nice friend/mom? She seemed truly sincere. One of those things that make you go, "Hmmm."

on more thing..
Same delegated the money as such for the Bowers:
1)3,500 for a big screen TV with surround sound
2)$5,000 each for Kaitlin and Erik
3)An all-expense paid trip for the family to Cancun, Mexico
4)$3,000 for a sectional sofa sleeper
5)$5,000 for a Jacuzzi
6)$15,000 for a deck.

15k for a DECK? Can't you put an ADDITION on for that kind of money?

I think it's GREAT that the kids got money. (hope Erik goes to culinary school!)

How lisa delegated:
1)$10,000 for Orthodontics for Kaitlin
2)$15,000 for family room furniture
3)$10,000 for a Jacuzzi for Zach.
4)$ 5,000 for a pool slide for Kaitlin

It just seems like an afterthought...15k in FURNITURE? (well, I guess at ethan allen you could do that easily - but come on!)

one family is getting 5k for a jacuzzi and the other 10k? how much do these things run? I thought like 3-4k?

I have to tell you, I really did not like Sam's family. What a bunch of snobs. Her son kept saying that Lisa was mean, and she wasn't....good lord, she asked him to do the laundry and he thought she was mean??? That little girl is a brat, too. She definetly needed braces, she had a horse's overbite. I agree with Stinkerbelle, her voice was horrible.

The husband was a total jack-bootay. He was really rude on the cruise to her, and didn't even attempt to make things better the next day. *I* was mortified that he didn't wake up and tell her goodbye. I think if Lisa spent the money in a way to spite them, then good for her. They certainly didn't need $50,000 and the husband of all people didn't deserve a dime of it.

I hope the neighbors who were witchy and nasty saw the show and were ashamed of themselves. Then again, they probably think they're famous now

That "BEAR" is such a nasty woman. Why does she feel the need to put these kids down. It's not their fault their parents live in a better home and have more than her family.

I swear she is soooo OBNOXIOUS and STUPID. I was soooo happy when that fellow asked her what size was her trailer after bragging about the their 5 homes could fit in her backyard -give me a break!!

Sorry to be mean, but as she could saved those croc tears for another day. She's the one who came off as such a snob about being a "dental hygenist" . Seems to me she's the one who has a problem with her career. What a dope!

The other wife is very sweet. I think it was really nice what she did with 11yr old son.

I agree. She went into the experience and immediately judge the California family, I think she was so jealous she couldn't see straight. How can she expect them to be nice to her when she had such a chip on her shoulder? As far as the towels thing, that's why the family pays a maid to do those things, why should the kids do the jobs that their parents pay someone to do, just because she says so? She deemed them lazy because the family has a maid, yet another judgement.

It's like she was a real life Roseanne but life's not a TV show and she came across petty, rude and plain mean.

I also thought the husband in ca was rude! what an snob! and those kids were snobby brats too. it seemed they didn't even give that women a chance. they just saw she was overweight and didn't dress as nice as their mom .

and those neighbors! the one that kept sticking her tongue out and openiing her mouth real wide! eww! she was gross! I hate the way they all have those bony tan fake looking faces!

I thought the whole purpose of the show was to have the "new" Mom adapt to the host family lifestyle/rules the first few days, then for the host family to adapt to the "new" Mom's lifestyle/rules for the last few days.

If Lisa has her kids fold towels at home, why shouldn't she ask her "new" kids to fold towels on "her" days?

I also couldn't stand that CA family. They were so snobby. From the moment they first looked at Lisa, they hated her because she didn't "look" like them. They never gave her a chance from the very start. Both the family & the neighbors had that we're better than you attitude. Didn't one of the friends make a comment something to the effect of "she actually scrapes someones teeth?". I felt that they couldn't believe that the same kind of people who make their teeth white would actually be on the same boat as them. How dare they mingle with the "little people". Then they had the nerve to say that THEY were down to earth! Those women all struck me as the type who would only adopt because actually having their own children would ruin their size 0 bodies & then get nannies to raise them because they are too busy shopping & having plastic surgery to be bothered with the kids. I think Sam's eyes were opened to the fact that quality family time is something that can not be bought & that friendship is about what you buy. From what I understood, Lisa leaving them the money for a family room was her way of saying that these people need to have "family time" & need to show each other that they love each other.

It's more the way she did it that bugs me. She did so in such a snide way, why couldn't she have said to the kids come fold these towels with me, I'll teach you how to do it, if you're unsure. The way she jumped to conclusions just irritated me, it was like she thought oh, they're rich kids = lazy, I'll show them! If she really cared she would've done it differently.

LOL...she didn't jump to that conclusion...that WAS the conclusion!

JMO though

I couldn't belive at the end how nasty the MA dad was to his wife.

The MA dad could never say nothing nice. When they were reading the letter from the CA mom she said the son was like the lion in the Wizard of OZ and the dad puts his 2 cents in and says, it means you need a brain. And, I think he liked the CA mom and didn't want his wife back home.

Do you think when the families watch this show, they will all cringe with embarassment.
