I actually really liked the yellow teams room, I thought it was sleek. I would have voted, however for the blue team based on attituted. I loved how she walked into the room, really praised it and when asked say - it is going to be close.

I didn't like how the yellow team acted like the room they got wasn't very good and couldn't praise it. Afraid of the competition??

I have watched this series on and off and didn't understand one thing - how did they get the teams together in the end. don't they live in separate places?

well - they live in different neighborhoods...but I belive they are all in the "orlando area". (how big an area that might be, is beyond me)

That's why each team has different carpenters for the shows. They do not live side by side and they don't know each other.

Boy, everyone is bringing up really good points about the yellow team's room. I had trouble with the reveal and trying to follow what all went into the room. Like the bookshelf the yellow team had made for the room and which was debated heavily in the beginning of the episode - they didn't even show it in the reveal. And putting that wine cooler in I thought was cool but they should have done something to extend the countertop if they were going to do that. I think this was the weakest of episode just because it was so hard to follow. They should not have done the $20K at Home Depot - it was ridiculous and completely contrary to the theme of the show. It made it impossible and very unfair to judge both teams at the end.

I still feel I voted for the right team overall (yellow) as they impressed me the most throughout the competition. But if I was just voting on one episode, it would have been the lt. blue team.

You know what they SHOULD have done? Spun a wheel that had 4 colors on it:
black
white
stainless steel
and HARVEST GOLD!!! :scared1:

Whatever they landed on - that was the color appliances coming into the room and they had to work around it. I just knew when I found out they were doing kitchens that everyone would be getting new appliances.

I didn't vote either b/c I really preferred the light blue team's attitude and creativity but I wasn't thrilled with the way the cabinets came out in the end. The yellow team was my favorite from the first round but after that they began to grate on me and their attitude during the reveal really turned me off.

I also felt that the final round would have worked better as a 2 hour show so we could have gotten a better feel of what was actually done in the rooms. Either way, both teams did a great job and made for some entertaining tv.

I voted yellow-and it was a tough one. I am glad about the teams that were in the finals I liked them both.

the Yellow team did add knobs to the cabinets-it just cracks me up how many newer nice do not have knobs, it makes such a difference. I thought they did a nice job of trying to marrying the living room to the kitchen.

the lt blue teams kitchen was a little busy I have that tile in my kitchen-we thought about the plaster stuff but thought it might be to much. And I wish they would have tried a different techinque for the walls since they had done it before. Or used the product that Behr makes & sells at HD. It has better colors.

That being said I wish both teams would have done more work themselves I felt like it to much had been hired. My hubby and I had just talked about the $2000 being cool because we get to see what the HO's could do, then Bam it gets messed up.

Since we are on the topic of Trading Spaces, has anyone looked at the new line of paints and colors? They have the line at our Fred Meyer, which is a division of Kroger stores. It's kind of neat- there are probably 40-50 cards with the rooms on it (like Doug's Back to Brazil with the foot, or Vern's pretty blue bedroom with the lights/sparklies on the canopy), and it tells you what paints to buy- a main color, with two complimenting colors. It's fun! I went with a kitchen in mind that Gen did several seasons back- a celery green color for the cabinets, but alas, they did not have that featured on a card. So I found a very similar pear green that I will do, and buy nickel colored knobs. It's my goal to get it accomplished two weekends from now! The cabinets won't be bad....it's the crown molding that I have to paint on my 9 1/2 foot ceilings that I am not looking forward too. :scared1: Luckily, I am leaving the wall paint alone; I still like it. But I'm switching from bright blue cabinets (eek, what was I thinking!) to the pear green. I have pale butter colored walls. Well, the cabinets are not totally blue---I sponged them and then just taped off and painted an edge around each cabinet. I have Mary Englebreit wallies accenting and it goes, but I don't like it anymore.

That's a great Idea (the paints). Wonder what other spin offs they'll come up with. We bought a bedding set at Linens and Things that was a "Trading Spaces" brand. Nothing from the shows, but it came with a booklet with designers suggestions for things to put in a room with the bedding. We threw that away....just bought the bedding because we liked it.....(and because 14 year old DS liked the picture of Paige on the package ;) )

Actually, I liked the red team. I voted lt. blue because I didn't like yellow's attitude (DH) at the time of their reveal. He looked disappointed, disgusted, I don't know, but it was not in good sportsmanship-almost concerned of the competition!

I think that everyone should remember that these are these people's homes. Their reaction should be honest. I remember the very first team getting flamed becasue she didn't like the Dragonflys. At least she was honest. It's hard to know exactly what your neighbors would like, let alone practical strangers.

I think the yellow teams reaction was honest. They didn't say they hated it, but when asked what their chances were they were honest. I don't think honesty should ever be a reason to vote against someone. I voted based on the design of the rooms. Lt. blue's kitchenwas too busy - the cabinets did truly look horrible with the bubbling. One color on teh wall, multi-colored cabinets, a different color floor.

The other hard part about this show is that the kitchens were not similar. Lt. blues home was bigger, had nicer cabinets, and already had tile floor. And the plaster on the walls closed in the smaller kitchen too much. It was fairly dark.

i think they should have made it 2 hours because it was had to really get a feel for the work that was done by the teams vs. the Home Depot.

Just my 2 cents.
