I liked the way the lavendar team worked together - and I love the room they did. So they got my vote.

Who did you vote for?

It was nice to see Gen on the show again too - now, where's Vern? :)

Me too! I liked the lavendar team and the soft yellow room. The dark orange was too much and it didn't look as "finished" as the other room.

I did find it interesting that Home Free was directly opposite from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition seeing as Ty is the host of Ex M and they advertised Home Free during the show! Fortunately, neither program is something I have to watch every min of so I just zipped back and forth.

I liked the lavender team also, but voted for the other team because I didn't think they were nice with their comments about their room.

Well, I actually voted for the green team. My husband and liked both rooms so it came down to the fact that we did not like the lady from the purple team. She was just too negative with her comments and we felt that just for that the other team deserved our vote.

I voted for the Lavender team.

I felt that the Green team could have used their money much more effectively than cheap furniture and a cheap rug from Target.
They didn't even try to get any bargains or good used stuff from a Thrift store etc.

I didn't like the eggplant/purple with that orange and I didn't like the Dragonflies. yuck.

I voted lilac. The yellow room was so much prettier and that dragonfly picture on the orange walls was hideous.

I voted for the green team. I thought the lavendar team, specifically the lady, was too arrogant. I thought that the orange room was going to look terrible, but everything added to the room made it look nice. I also hated how the lavendar lady said she would get rid of everything except the floor and the desk; that was rude.

I voted for the lavender team...they did a much better job...

PS...on the last show for round one....Scott and Tami (blue team ithink) He is the son of my High School drama teacher...got an email from his sis yesterday...hope he does good so everybody can vote for them...

I voted for the lavender team. I was at a home expo yesterday in Madison WI and Doug from TS was there, he said he is writing a book called Doug's Rooms and was in the process of getting his own show, he also reported that Vern is no longer with the show. He has a very nice singing voice as he sang a song at the end and if I am not mistaken he is seeing a home owner form TS.

I haven't watched the show yet, but to answer your question about Vern...a few weeks (months?) ago someone posted that they saw Doug at a home and garden show. Someone in the audience asked, "Why hasn't Vern been on the show?" Doug got all huffy and at first wouldn't answer the question and then later said something along the lines of, "We, the designers have strict rules to follow; we have to save every receipt to prove how much we spent. Vern was a little shady in that area and wouldn't product exact receipts---he was getting away with spending way more than $1,000 and it was misrepresenting the show. The rest of us didn't like it because it wasn't playing by the books and he was finally fired for it." Again, I'm quoting someone who was quoting someone, so it's not EXACTLY what was said....I always wondered how he did some of those rooms for under $1,000!!! Come on- remember those pergo floors AND new countertops AND a new buffet...or how bout the one with the maple walls! (it was maple, wasn't it?) I LOVED his room but had a tough time believing it was really under $1,000...and I also read in Paige's book the Vern would get in trouble by the producers for keeping his homeowners up all night (something that often seemed to happen with Vern's teams).

Ooooh - I wonder if Doug is dating that woman from Minneapolis that he was flirting with so much. I remember seeing so many rumors about that. Doug's an interesting guy. When he takes a room seriously, he does a really good job. When he decides to go crazy, it gets scary.

As for Vern - that's really too bad if he was fired because of the budget. But if he was shady about how he got all that cool stuff, it was the right thing to do for the integrity of the show. I really did love his designs though.

As far as making the HOs stay up all night for homework, Hildi does that all the time too - her homework is downright mean half the time.

The lavender woman was a little harsh about the room, but I think she was really trying to be honest. She definitely approached this as more of a true competition than the green team - which I think is both good and bad. The green team couple were better sportsmen about it, but they still didn't produce as good a room as the more-competitive lavender team.

Zurgswife - I hope Scott does really well too so I can vote for him too. :)

What I heard about Vern is that he left the show on his own....and has now signed with NBC to do a show of his own.

As for Home Free.....I vote for Paige!:D princess:

I voted lavender also. I thought the green team were better sports but that room was horrid to me also. I think the lavender lady wants to win and it showed and that is OK with me because 1) I thought the room they decorated was much better and 2) it is a competition.

Now, if we had voted on personalities...:p

That is a shame if that is true about Vern. He's the only one I'd even let into my house! LOL Oh and Laurie does some pretty rooms too.

I loved Doug's hair cut so short. He is a handsome man.

I am trying to vote for the green team...the website says I can no longer vote - maybe they are trying to work out glitches for the west coast. I am voting for the green team cause I liked the feel of the room better- it felt cleaner to me and they really gave them the office space and storage the team requested- and those pergo floors---HELLO!! That was WONDERFUL! Who cares is they went cheap on the rug or nightstands-----they got PERGO FLOORS!! I didn't care for the lavendar team's room because I didn't like the color, & I really didn't like how they just gave the office space a desk and no storage- no clever cabinets---I mean, did you see how much STUFF she had in the before pictures?? Where did it all go? They didn't give her a solution for it- they probably just shoved in it another room for the homeowner to figure out.

Ooo--I just got thru on the telephone to vote for the green team! Yay!

And, on a side note, I thought the woman from the lavendar team was so fakey-fake and syrupy and was trying WAY too hard...it was driving me nuts and I couldn't stand to watch them for another episode! But I voted for which room I liked better/

I was thinking the same thing when I saw this post---I bet he is dating that gal from Minneapolis...I mean, most of the homeowners are married couples, so it doesn't leave a lot of options for guessing who it might be!

I voted for the green team, the purple lady just came across as a diffulcate person to work with to me. She kept saying that she hoped she didn't like her room so everyone would vote for her. I would rather see the nice guy win for once!:D

I voted for the green team also. I liked the whole room except the dragon flys, and those were dougs idea anyway, that shouldn't reflect on them. They seemed really iffy about putting it in too. I love love loved the color they picked, and I also loved the white shelving that they put in there, that was really nice, and the flooring was nice also. I thought the lady from the other team was kindof nasty too, saying she was going to change most everything as soon as she was allowed. And finally I did not like the yellow room at all, the color was really bad, and the room was originally green, which was a much nicer color.

tricia.

Did you notice that the green team did not voice any negative opinions on their bedroom like the lavendar team did? Paige asked the lavendar team questions which lead to the female to say she would only keep the flooring and the desk cabinets. She never asked the same type of questions for the green team to say what they did not like in the room. I am sure if given the opportunity to say something, they may have. "Metal marries wood"....I did not like that combo, personally.

I think that the lavender ladies comments were deliberate. She gets that this is a competition and was trying to manipulate voters by pointing out negative things about the room. Just too shady for my taste and not even subtle.
