My family will be heading to Disney late May, early June for an eight night stay in a dedicated two bedroom it will be Me, DW, DD27, SIL27, GD2, DS24, DIL24, DS14, DS7,DS7. The question is our reservation is at SS for eight nights and was wondering if we should switch to BWV for seven nights. We were thinking of trying BWV (never stayed) boardwalk view, but are not sure if its worth giving up an extra night. All opinions would be helpful TIA.

The BW is one of our fave resorts and we'd probably make that switch, but everyone's preference is different. You will likely have trouble landing a BW view within the 7 mo. window at this point.

With that crowd I would be trying to get OKW. You are going to be very crowded at SSR or BWV with 9 and a toddler.

I second OKW for the group as you're beyond the occupancy of both SSR and BWV with 9 plus a toddler in addition to being very crowded. Did MS allow you book 10 for the SSR unit?

MS did allow me to book 10, but we are not yet absolutely sure if DS24 and DIL are going to be able to make it yet. Was mainly wondering if boardwalk atmosphere for early summer was worth giving up an extra night at WDW.:confused3

BWV is a great location, but as PP said SSR and BWV only have bedding for 8 people and 1 child in a pack and play. AKV, OKW and BLT has sleeping for 9 and a pack and play. BLT and AKV have 3 full baths while the others have 2. Also THV's do have sleeping for 9 and 3 private bedrooms if you can get one (same points as 2 bdroom so no need to shorten trip) and actually the outdoor space with that many might be nice. I guess my decision would lay with actually how many are coming before I decide on resort - the count you have now is going to be tight and someone will be on the floor.
Good luck!

Thanks but they shouldn't have. In addition to OKW, you might consider AKV Kidani with the extra bath and bedding. Enjoy your trip.

If you stay at SSR, you could always waitlist for a Treehouse Villa. They sleep 9 and have a Pack 'n Play in the bunk bed BR. It would still be "cozy". ;)

We love the BW area and would do 7 nights there over 8 at SSR, even if we had to stay in a pool/garden view room.

Being able to walk to/from Epcot and DHS is nice. There are also the boats and it is nice at night.

Good luck!

All BWV 2 bedrooms are lockoffs, which means a queen and double sofabed in the second bedroom. With that many people I would not do it. You're going to have a king in the master, queen and double sofa sleeper in the 2nd bedroom and queen sleeper sofa in the living room. Two bathrooms. You've got 6 adults, 1 teen, 2 kids and 1 toddler, way too crowded in my opinion.

Thanks for everyones advice. I moved the reservation to a dedicated two bedroom at OKW with a wait list for a GV. I started thinking about what everyone was saying and that is a bunch in a two bedroom, but they only had five days available at a GV, so i waitlisted the entire stay. Way too much moving for that many people. Maybe the BWV's this Christmas ;)

That is a much better plan. Doing Disney as much as we all love it, can be very stressful, even when everyone gets a good night's sleep.

More space will certainly help.
