I am not sure if there has ever been a thread about this, but it would be nice if people could swap reservations. Say I have a week in March but am wanting a week in April that I am wait listed for. And some person has an april reservation but is wait listed in March. Be nice to post a trading thread. But I am not sure how that wold work through DVC. You don't want to call and cancel until you have locked up your wait list reservation. Any way just a thought.

I think that would be nice. I also think it would be cool to be able to trade points. That would be tricky, but potentially beneficial to both parties. For example, someone who owns at AKV might want to stay at BCV for food and wine. Someone who owns at BCV may want to try AKV concierge. Since both are hard to get at 7 months, they could switch points and both parties get the 11 month advantage and desired booking.

It's come up more times than I can count but rarely does it ever seem to happen. There are a couple of issues. One is that often people don't agree on the value of each and another is that the person who goes first is at less risk. Overall it works best between people you know. A better, but similar, approach is to rent out your points and rent the high demand option at 11 months out.
