Trading Pins

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what trading pins are about. I've heard about them. Where do you get them, who do you trade with, etc.?

We're making our "first family trip" at the end of March and I really want to make the most of it since we aren't able to go as often as others. It'll probably be another four years before we go again.

Any Cm wearing a lanyard will trade with you. There are a bunch of rules, I just know two -- it must be a Disney pin and they won't trade if they already have the pin you want to give them on their lanyard (although sometimes they will bend the rule)

My DD loves to trade, we bought a bunch of $1 pins at Disney store about a year ago and she traded those for Pooh pins. She collects Pooh only. My DS likes to get pins of his favorite attractions, so they we pretty much had to buy at the pin carts. Usually run around $7 each.

You can stock up at cheappins.com and then trade those on your trip. Have fun.
