Hi all!

We are current members and own at BWV, OKW and VB. We also own two non DVC timeshares. I just completed an RCI exchange from our non-DVC timeshare into Saratoga during the Flower and Garden Festival. Has anyone done this who is a current member? I noticed you are required to pay $95 when you check in for transportation costs. I assume that even though I am a DVC member, I would still have to pay this since it technically was an external exchange into DVC. If you have done this, did you still get all the perks and were you treated the same? Any advice on this would be appreciated.

I have to say, I was excited to see the week we wanted to travel come up. I am out of points this year the the rack rate for SSR would have been more than $3800 for a week in a one bedroom.

you are not a DVC member staying on points, so you are required to pay the $95 fee and you are not eligible to pool hop and so forth.

you might get free internet, you might not. you're probably not supposed to but they might let it slide.

you would still be eligible for dining discounts if you have your member card.

I've done this many times. Yes, you must pay the fee but it does not give you member perks. It does cover Magical Express, on-property transportation, and the right to phone in for dining reservations. You will not get free Internet or be recognized as an owner during your stay. All the same, you'll have a lovely timeshare room instead of paying for an on-property hotel.
