Trading in Disney Visa Points

Anyone know how far in advance you have to call to trade in Disney Visa points for Disney gift card? Last vacation I waited too long and could not do it in time. 2 weeks rings a bell. Is this correct?

Do it now. They now use a refillable card system. You get ONE rewards card which you are to keep even after you have exhausted the dollars on the card. When you have accumulated additional points, a quick visit to the web site or phone call can have those points transferred to the card in just a couple of hours.

Thanks for asking this question and for the info.. I just checked mine and now I could kick myself! I just got it last month and put my trip on it and then some bills. Though I knew that I had to have at least 20 points to get the card, I didn't know that it had to be in the same billing cycle. I only have 17 points, though I am over $2000, because some of the charges happened after the end of last months billing cycle. Now I have to wait until the 26th of this month and pray I get it before we leave May 13th. Do they normally arrive that quickly? Also, do you have to have 20 points everytime you transfer some to the card, or just the first time?

You can pick up the card at Downtown Disney Guest Relations and call Bank One to transfer points. This is the easiest way to get the rewards card.

Oooh, thanks. So do I just ask for an unused card and then Bank One will just transfer it to that? Is it any different than a Disney GC, really? We did the 7 for 4 deal, so we will be getting $100 Disney Dollars when we check in. Will that be in card form and would they maybe just add it to that one?

The first time you transfer it has to be at least $20. Everytime after that it has to be at least $10, but can be any odd amount that you want.

Once you transfer to debit card is there an expiration on what is on the card?

My card has an expiration date of one year after I put the original points on it. I think my current points are good until 2008 or something like that

Yes! So don't transfer points to the card unless you know you'll use them before the expiration date.

The points expire even if you don't transfer them to your rewards card. If you check your statement it will have an experation date that the points will expire. Mine has a 2008 date!

I ordered my card today and they told me I should recieve it by April 27th.

Also you have to have at least $10 disney points to transfer over to the card after the initial transfer!
