I was interested in how to trade for a week in The Westin Vacation Club, St. John through INTERVAL INTERNATIONAL . How does this work? Do I trade points for a studio, 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom? What determines time of the year? What DVC location? How long does the process take? Is it automatic? Are the rooms equivalent (studio, 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom)? Sorry for all the questions. I'm a new member and was wondering what my options were.

Thanks in advance.

I believe the Westin ST. John's is a new resort to II, one that's dually affiliated, so it's with RCI also. I suspect most members are already RCI members and therefore that what FEW deposits are given up will go mostly to RCI. These quotes were taken from a topic comparing the Westin, Marriott Aruba and Ciboney in Jamaica.
At the Westin, all the timeshare units except the 3BR pool villas are across the street and up a hill from the main facility. You have to walk or call for a golf cart to bring you up and down the hill. The 3BR villas are gorgeous, and have their own private plunge pool. It's unlikely you'll get one of those, though. If you do, can I go with you?
7. Did you know the Westin now trades through II instead of RCI?

The Westin may be the toughest trade of the three you mentoned.
I hadn't seen it listed on the DVC list as of yet but would assume it would have been or would be added as it is appears to be a world class resort. I would not expect much for deposits and would assume that other Starwood members would have priority. Good luck, go for it but don't hold your breath. Definitely do the search starting at 18 months to 2 yrs. out.
