I will be getting the meal plan for the first time in January. I was wondering
if you can use 2 counter service meals for 1 table service? I would rather be waited on than getting my food myself. How would I go about doing this. There will be 4 in our party. Do we each have to use our meal tickets at the same time if we're eating together or can you use one. It is a little confusing. I heard that there are ways to get the most out of your plan but I don't know exactly what they are. Can someone give me some suggestions?

Thanks

You cannot trade up to table service from counter service. If you dont want to use a counter service than dont get the DDP or get premium (or platinum) then you can eat 2 TS a day, no problem. For sharing, you cannot do this at a buffet or a family style all you can eat restaurant, for the obvious reason. You can at ala cart restaurants, and pay out of pocket for anything extra you order such as an extra drink or sides etc... HTH :teacher:

Ditto.... we wanted to do the same thing and of course we found out quickly we could not. You have to do a little bit of planning to make sure you get your money's worth. The last poster mentioned paying out of pocket for some food. That is a good idea and can really maximize your table service meals.

As the others have indicated, there is no trading from CS to TS... the exchange rate, if they ever offered it, would probably be 3CS or 4CS to 1TS, anyway, and therefore not really worth it. They sometimes allow trading in the opposite direction, from TS to CS, on a one-for-one basis (so as you can see, when you trade, you definitely lose value). There is currently no official policy allowing even that trading down (so do NOT count on it), though you might be lucky and they may allow it at some hotels towards the end of your trip. However, definitely no tradining up is allowed.

According to a couple of threads Disney is considering lowering the price of the premium meal plan, which allows 3 meals/ day and doesn't differentiate between CS and TS meals.

Just back from AKL last night & in Mara they did allow me to trade 1 CS for 3 snack options. You can use them on anything edible at AKL - I stocked up on those cute tins of mints & the big, yes big (like 8-10oz.) bags of the Mickey pretzels to bring back for souvenirs.
