How much trouble would it be to trade our 4/3 deal for the GC deal? We are staying a POFQ and when I first checked our dates 3/25-4/2 it showed no availability for the GC deal. Today it shows availability at all levels of resorts (before none at any level--did Disney add more rooms?:confused3) Anyway, we saved $288 with the 4/3 deal (we've never gotten a dicount before so I was thrilled). Would it be worth the hassle to trade or is it possible that I would end up with no discount if I cancel my 4/3 deal and then there are no more GC deal rooms left? Thanks :goodvibes

I would call and not book unless I had the new offer. I know rooms come up all the time. I had a free $500 giftcard offer last spring and we booked one room. About 3 weeks before going my son decided to come. I called every day to see if another room was avail. No luck at all in the hotel. A week before going all of a sudden rooms were there! We booked the second room and got the second $500 giftcard! I check every day to see if our WL reservation (booked orig with 40% off, now AP is 45% and we want a standard room only to save more) to see if a standard room is avail or AP is avail. I have also called to see if the PIN has the standard-so far no luck. I'll keep trying right up to the end!! I would not cancel the 4/7 until you know the other is available and you HAVE it booked.

The 4/3 was booked in September and that deal is no longer available, but it is paid in full at this time. Because of our dates we're only getting 1 night free, but, that is better than nothing. I was considering changing to save another $200ish and use it on dining. So are you saying that I can book another ressie under the exact names and dates BEFORE I cancel the other ressie? I didn't know I could do that.

They will check to see if your nights/resort is available before cancelling the old reservation. They will cancel it right after the change is made. If you're only getting one night free now, are you sure you're not doing better than 200 with the giftcard. Just wondering. Have you priced the room discount as well? With 5 days, you're best best most likely is the giftcard IF you need the tickets. If you are paid in full, and this costs less they will refund. If your savings is due to the gift card, the balance due will have to be paid 45 days before 1st night.

We're saving $288 over rack rate with the 4/3, not quite sure where that amount came from, it is more than 1 night but, less than 2. No, we don't need the park tickets so we're saving those for a future trip and of course the package must include tickets for length of stay. Will I lose my ADRs if I cancel my ressie? Can I just tranfer them to the new ressie number? I think I may have totally confused myself at this point! Are there room only discounts available for March? I guess it is over to the Disney site for more price checking.

THe ADRs should be fine. There are room only discounts for Jan 1 to June 3. They vary on length of stay and resort type. THey are on WDWs site along with the gift card promo.

Found it, thanks:) Crunching numbers now!

Decided to go with the room only discount. Thanks for the heads up ;)

We called and had them modify our 4/7 to the gc promo. Ressie number stayed the same, and my previous full payment (I was just within the 45 days) was applied to the modified itinerary. They don't figure the gc into your total, so eventhough I was saving a bunch with the gc.....the gc promo has you pay rack, so it "appears" at booking that you are paying more. So we did not get charged a ressie change fee. It was pretty easy for them to switch and they gave us the total and checked availability before officially making the switch to the gc promo.

HTH,
Val
