No offence intended to any good hard-working reliable Electricians, Joiner's etc but why are so many unreliable.

I need a plumber and finally today have managed to get one booked in for next Thursday.

Have rung up about 10, half of which I have spoken to but despite waiting over a week they have not rung me back, the rest I have spoken to on mobile's and been asked to leave a message on their home numbers.
Have they run me back....what do you think?

It's almost like they don't want the business

Most annoying thing ever (apart from cyclists with no lights on when it's dark)....anyway, feel much better now going to watch Darts on SKY.

My dad is a plumber and is 65 in a month. He has delayed his retirement as he has worked booked up until Xmas. Reliable workers are in demand (Not an advert as he wont work on the fylde)

Everyone, in the 'tradesman' business seems to have more work than they can cope with - which, in many ways, is fantastic

Times are so uncertain nowadays tho that I'm guessing that many take any work that's offered - just in case they're let down-and then, unfortunately, can't always manage to fit it in

oh I agree, and Rob's dad is a prime example of a reliable honest 'skilled' man, the thing that really wound me up was three of the plumbers I called actually put leaflets through our front door "no job too small" etc....but then don't return your calls when you ring them

Johnny - hope you've got it sorted

I feel very lucky - we were recommended a building services company when we moved up here. They are always really busy but they have come straight out to to a temporary fix for me a couple of times now. Luckily, if they can't do a job they find someone who can (and these guys have been equally reliable)

Grief - work booked to Christmas! He must have a great reputation - hope they don't work him too hard
