i unfortunately missed the window to get trader sams reservations at the 60 day mark. My question is how often do reservations pop up for a weekend. i'm trying to get reservations for 4 people in june. i have been refreshing quite a bit with no luck so far. Am i out of luck? im going in 7 weeks

Recent trip to DL in March. Snagged a Trader Sam's for two on a Saturday night about one week out while a huge convention was happening (score!). I found it luckily when searching World of Color Dessert Party times, but not by searching a meal period (i.e. Dinner). It was strange also that in searching the actual time of the reservation, it didn't show up, but one hour or so ahead or behind, and there it was.

Others might recommend those sign-up dining availability notification services, but I'm not usually in a position to respond quickly when they come up, so end up missing out.

Just keep checking. They do pop up, especially day-of, or day before. Good luck!

I've been pretty lucky with getting Trader Sam's reservations. You can also try in person to get in; I've been able to do that without a reservation. It's a lot easier if you don't mind being outside on the lanai, which is very nice unless you want the indoor interactive experience. There's a walk-up bar outdoors and you can sit on the Tangaroa Terrace side; you still get the tiki torches and sometimes live music from an island band.

As Bunkie said, there are dining notification services you can sign up for that will alert you when a reservation comes open for the date/time period you enter (breakfast/lunch/dinner), but you have to be pretty fast to grab the popular ones. I've been able to get Trader Sam's that way. I just use the free version but usually miss 3/4 of them. It helps a lot if you're logged in to dining and can quickly check. You're able to set several alerts at a time (6 I think in the free version). The alert will tell you the date and time period when a reservation has come open so you have to rush to the Disney dining res site and try and grab it. I generally set 2 alerts each day (lunch and dinner) for the days I could use for Trader Sam's.

They have 4 person reservations and that's what I'd recommend if you want to be together. I don't think you can do 5 on one reservation, but 4 works.

I was able to book one around 8:35 eastern, so I think they dropped a little early.

I was checking from 5:00 on (I was up anyway) and wasn't able to get it to work. Did you start directly on the TS dining reservation page? That's what I will try tomorrow.

I did, and I was on the web vs the app.

I was there over Easter and I checked a couple mornings (around 7:30am) and I saw a few pop up on the app for that day.

Walk-up availability depends on the size of your group, the day of the week, and the time of day. We were quoted a 60 min return time and ended up waiting ~30 min for a patio table for a group of 5 (on a Thursday in September after 9pm). We also maximized our chances by joining the waitlist via the app and adding our name to the list by talking to a person (at the podium at the Tangaroa Terrace entrance).

Don't think you can make an online reservation for more than 4 people, unless the policy has changed. We have a party of 6 later today, split into a reservation for 4 and another for 2.

Managed to snag one this morning, but even being on the TS reservation page, and checking from 5:30 onwards, I almost missed out. Crazy.
