Children are allowed inside up until 8:00 at night. My teenager's loved sitting with us inside, it was alot of fun when the specality drinks where ordered and the effects went off.

I have been to Trader Sam's several times and during the day I have seen children inside, even sitting at the bar! However, I think at night they may enforce an age restriction, so hopefully someone has a little more information on that.

In my opinion, the real charm of the bar is sitting inside, so I would try to get their earlier in the day if I had kids with me. Nighttime is crowded anyway and it becomes difficult to find seating.

I wish I could find a copy of the drink menu....I just keep finding names of drinks and a little clue here and there about the bar having little shows when you order certain drinks

Good news about kids being able to go until 8!

As for the outside area, there is actually a Tangaroa Terrace side and a Trader Sam's side, so you can order off the TS menu outside (we did that one night). I love the indoor stuff, but the outdoor terrace was also wonderful--low-key Hawaiian music in the background, palms and tiki torches--very relaxing.

I can't remember which drinks "start the show," but I can say for sure that Uh Oa does!

And I don't want to give anything away, but keep your eyes on the tikis on the bar poles. Didn't notice that until my 3rd visit, but then my drink was on fire...

Krakatoa Punch - There's no escaping falling in lava with this exotic eruption of flavor!
-- Reserve and Spiced Rums, Tropical Juices, Orgeat (Almond) Syrup, Sam's Gorilla Grog, and Hibiscus Grenadine. Served in a souvenir Tiki Glass.

HippopotoMai-Tai - Dare to enter this hippo pool with...Bang! Bang! Two shots of Rum! Don't worry this drink is only dangerous when you start to wiggle your ears!

Shrunken Zombie Head - Every time business shrinks for our favorite head salesman he celebrates with one of these supernatural potions.

Rosita's Margarita - And now, Senors and Senoritas, please place your ice into the center...of the glass, that is, as we present this enchanted cocktail from Rosita. (P.S. Whatever happened to her?)

Ka-Blue-Ie! - Gorillas, rifles, dynamite, and river water don't mix...or do they? (Always makes a splash!)

Has anyone tried any of the No Booze Brews? I want to take DH but I don't like the taste of alcohol so I don't drink. Just wondering which of those is any good or if one is not so good.
