I read a report from some Guests who dropped by Sam's a few nights ago around 11:00 PM and got in easily-said there was room inside for more.

Do you think this was a rarity or is demand already leveling off?

I am sure there is still demand and lines, but at off peak times it will just be easier like anything else. The 3 hour waits at the very beginning also had a lot of bloggers that were reporting to their readers so they had to get the quick review. I would still expect a couple hour wait around dinner times though.

We were planning on going late, so thanks for the info!

I've heard multiple reports of 15-30 minute waits. I would say you're going to see waits during peak time, like on weekends. However, during the week and if you go early or late, maybe not so bad. Luckily it doesn't seem to be the 2-3 hour waits we saw that first weekend, but we will see. Locals will be coming around for a while.

I would love to see some reports at different times of the day from people. Going sometime next week and hoping to find a slow time to go.

When I was in there on Friday Night (in first group going in), the wait was 90 minutes for those not in the initial group let in. When I left about 2 hours later, the wait was about 60 minutes then.

I'll be there in May & was hoping to be able to stop by to check it out. I was thinking if I got there just before 4 when they open, maybe it wouldn't be too long of a wait. Also, I'm planning to go on a weekday.

How does the wait work exactly? Are you putting your name on a list an waiting in a certain area to be called or are you given one of those vibrating deals to alert you to come back. I'm wondering this because I was thinking about trying to get on the list before Ohana's and then come back. Not sure is that strategy is possible though.

I think demand (as far as the kind of demand that goes along with anything being new) will be leveling off for awhile, at least on weeknights. I don't expect there to be three hour waits anymore but I fully expect 1 hour, especially on a weekend.

I would actually not suggest getting on the wait list and then leaving to dine at 'Ohana.

I read a report last night on Facebook of someone who got in with no wait in the evening.

Does anyone know what the waits are like for the patio? And is there seating for 5? We were skipping an ADR for our arrival night at the Poly since our flight gets in shortly before dinner time, and I didn't want to miss a reservation just in case we had a delay, so we were planning to just have a few apps and finish with a Dole Whip at the Lanai.

I was there on Monday, April 6th and my husband and I did not have to wait. We were told to seat ourselves and so we ended up sharing a table with two lovely young women because there were no open tables. This was fine and added to the experience. We arrived around 8:00 pm and left at 9:30 pm and there was no wait at all during that time. It was fun! I highly recommend checking it out!

Great-looks like the leveling off has definitely started!

Can't wait to check it out in ONE week!!!!:)

We stopped by on Friday, April 3 a little after 7:00 and we were told it was a 2 hour wait even for a drink to go. The Luau was testing not having drinks available before the show so you had to go to Trader Sam's. I let the CM know there was a two hour wait and that it might not be a great test right now. She didn't care so I'm sure that info will never get passed along. Really Disney I want to give you more $ and you're making it very difficult. No Tropical drinks for us.:sad2::sad:

I'm definitely not going to take short waits as a given, but this is good to hear! Can't wait to visit! Thanks for the updates!!

We were there last night. At 9, the two of us tried to get a quick drink before our 9:45 ohana reservation, but the wait was 30 minutes. After dinner, at around 11:15, we walked in with no wait. The entire bar was open and several other seats were available.

Had a good time. The crowd was rambunctious though, and it definitely had the feel of a "cult classic" type place.

Also, I ordered the Pearl drink and asked for no cinnamon. She said she couldn't change the recipe unless it's a medical reason. So in she puts the squirts of cinnamon syrup... Ugh. Drink would have been great without the cinnamon.
