Trader Joes

I'm another Massachusetts resident fortunate to have not one but 6 Trader Joe's within a 30 minute drive from my house. We only go twice a month because otherwise I would go way over my grocery budget.

What we buy regularly:

Low-sodium chicken broth in a carton
Turkey meatballs
Mandarin Orange chicken
Jasmine brown rice
Chocolate-covered peanut butter filled pretzels
Oatmeal with flaxseed
Dog treats
Various simmering sauces
Baby spinach
Jams
Roasted corn (frozen)
Chile lime chicken burgers (frozen)
Liquid hand soap - orange blossom?
Chicken sausage with roasted garlic
Ginger cat cookies

I don't like any of the 2 buck Chuck (here in MA its 3 bucks) but TJ's does have some tasty red wines for about 6 bucks

Ohhh, you are all making me suffer TJ withdrawal even more than usual! We moved away from the East Coast, and now don't have one in our state at all. I so miss their Indian sauces, frozen naan, produce, sausages, etc., etc.! I even wrote to the company asking them to think about starting a store out here, but no luck so far...

I forgot another favorite because its seasonal - I don't care for regular Jo-jo's (like an Oreo) but at Christmas time they have CandyCane Jo-jo's -- those things are like crack. And after Christmas they mark them down to 99 cents a box.

HE liquid laundry detergent
peach salsa (jar)
red pepper hummus (fresh, refrigerator section)
frozen chocolate covered bananas
frozen fruit bars
spiced apple cider (seasonal item: fall/winter, but it's not out yet this year)
olive oil
brown rice (frozen)
mini chicken and cilantro pot stickers (frozen)
dried fruit (dried bananas, cherries, blueberries, mango, etc)
dark chocolate covered almonds

Oh-had to add the sparkling blueberry juice and the frozen regular and choc croissants.

Some of the non food items are great, too. Things I use on a regular basis include:

unscented moisturizing lotion
nourish shampoo and conditioner
laundry detergent
dishwasher detergent
dog treats
toilet paper
lavender hand soap

The only non-food items I've been disappointed with were the shaving cream and the paper towels.

They have a great selection of organic staples including butter, eggs, and milk that are cheaper than your regular grocery store. Good, reasonably inexpensive organic produce but it's all prepackaged so you have to get a certain size. The tomato pesto flatbread in the refrigerated section is one of my favorite products. They have great, cheap wine. Excellent chocolate selection.

All Charles Shaw wines from here and abroad

Prosecco wine is dirt cheap

JO-JO's are to die for!!! - I buy both kinds with the vanilla and chocolate filling

I love their Italian organic fusilli pasta it's $1.29 per bag and a bargain!

Fruit (bought their huge peaches all summer)

Maple Pecan Granola

Jams and Jellies

Frozen Chocolate croissants

Peanut butter filled pretzels

Frozen Orange Chicken and the Organic Brown Rice

One Pound chocolate bar with almonds

Fruit Bars (A ***** walked into a bar)

And anything else I can get close enough to buy. My Trader Joe's are so ridiculously crowded, that I can't find half the stuff people here recommend because I can't get close enough to the freezer section and shelves.

dried fried banana chips in abag, choc covered macadamia nuts, sugar free choc covered almonds, pineapple salsa (eat over cream cheese with tortilla chips)

We have not been there often but went just a couple of days ago. If you have a dog, they have these treats that are HUGE--we have to break them into about 6 pieces at least for our little dog, and I am certain she loses her mind when we have them anywhere near her. She goes through every trick she has ever been taught just desperately trying to get that treat. :rotfl: They were cheap too and organic which we always get for her.
