HI All, posting here before turing to the looney bin AKA the CB. My question is a three parter.

Does anyone know what states Trader Joe's sells liquor (not wine)? I am looking to purchase Admiral Joes Gin. I think that's the name of it. It was written up in Bon Appetitte as a best buy in gin and it is $8.00. Here in NJ we only have one TJ's with with a license and they only sell beer and wine. We did buy a mixed case of three buck chuck yesterday.

The second part, if California sells liquor is there one near DL? I will be visiting DL in 3 weeks.

Thirdly, do they sell a house vodka at a reasonable price? I will be making some homemade Limoncello and would give their brand a chance.

Cheers!

:lmao::lmao::lmao:Yes, well, I've had one or two of those in my lifetime ... we should share one someday; it's not like you live FAR or anything.

In fact, coincidentally, I'll be making Italiano Chicken again this evening ... so open the window around 6 PM and I'll send some really good stuff your way!!!

Who can say ROAD TRIP?

6pm...ok.....OK winds get this straight (eww I used the S word) you should be blowing NE at 6pm.

We love Trader Joes and their 3 buck chuck. I was just looking on their website at their locations, it references the stores that do not cell beer/wine etc but does not mention the hard stuff.

That is an awesome idea of stopping there before your Disneyland trip. I only wish they would open one in Orlando.

Yes California TJ's sell liquor and here is TJ's site that tells you the closest ones (on is 4+ miles away)

List

And yup they have several house Vodka's.

TJ's alcohol section is fun! But more fun is Bev Mo., it's the Toys R US and candy store all wrapped in one glorious package for drinking adults!!!

Ah, Bev Mo... my kind of grocery store... all the main food groups available. The tough part is deciding which one to go to. There's one about 1 mile east and another about 1 mile west!

Get the food from TJs and the drink from Bev Mo!

Hmm that would be a good idea. I was thinking more of buying it and brining it home. This trip I am staying at the GC conceirge so I'll get my daily wine fix for free (kinda sorta anyway)

Oh no more decisions to make

Hey Viki,
It's a little warm to open my windows tonight. Whats on the menu for tomorrow? I just whipped up a I'll call it a fusion scallop dish. Sauteed scallops coated in a euro-med blend of spices. Sauteed in a Herbs de Provence compound butter. Finished with a sauce of diced tomatoe, sweet corn, and black beans. The pan was deglazed with, and I am drinking a three buck chuck (Charles Shaw) Chardonay.

Oooooh, really, oooooh ....

OK, let me pull myself back together .... oooohhhhh .....

OK, taking Orlando Mike's advice, we do a lot of grillin' in the summer and that suits me just fine because I cook my tush off all fall, winter, spring ... so the short answer is we'll probably have some strip steaks on the barbie' tomorrow night and my son may or may not grill 'em with a nice pineapple glaze (sounds awful, tastes great) ...

The reason I'm cookin' in the over tonight is that DP has a big presentation to give tomorrow and I wanted to take some of the heat off ...

Still, I'm thinkin' "scallops and steak" .... sounds like a natural ... we're gonna have to do it ...

In the meantime I'm drinkin' a nice gnarly zinfandel!

Really really, that's what I made. I guess there is a reason Cayla (Padalyn) calls me a "foodie". If I was more of the Yes M'am Yes Sir type, I might've enrolled in culinary school. But I'm a little too free willed. Ohh is it F&W festival time yet? I'm waiting impatiently for the hard ticket events to be announced....opps I digress.

I'm sending "G" best wishes for her presentation.

But by turning on the oven, isn't it an oxymoron for taking the heat off???

YUM..Pineapple and beef. I think it's a great combo. It's like chicken and peach or apricot.

I always have scallops or fish in the freezer. Gotta love Costco. I do grill alot too, but the crazy nosey neighbors were out. And well the house has AC, and I was being lazy tonight and didn't want to break a sweat.

Gnarly.....interesting adjective for a wine.

Oooh, "G" really appreciated that ... thank you ...she's got her "skirts" (OK, she hasn't worn REAL skirts in 21 years and thank GOD!!!) all in a knot about this thing.

Yes, the son makes a killer pineapple/

steak glaze ....

Yes, there's is some complexity about takin' the heat off and puttin' the oven on, but I am a complex girl ... :)

Ooooh, say more about the nosey neighbors .... !

Complexity oh do tell more tidbits..

Hmm, "G" in a tizzy.... I could take advantage of that and propose baseball trades tonight Reyes looks good. Hmmm. Damn Schilling!! Did you forget about the league ?

Ohh the wacko neighbors are two sisters that are twins (first clue); they are in their 70's; I don't think either was ever in a realtionship or dated; they live in their parents house; they have a combined IQ of about, I dont know a 2 liter bottle of pepsi; have absoulutley no common sense; wouldn't know what a screwdriver was is they were stabbed with one; mow their lawn in the rain wearing bathing suits and those palstic rain bonnets old ladies wear - and it's not a pretty site.
