Ok- The extended family would like to go to FL next summer, but are sick of WDW. We still need to tie in a visit to Nana and Pop who live in FL, however, so I am wondering if a trade for another timeshare would be worth it. I've looked at Marriott Ocean Pointe in Palm Beach Shores. And, before anyone mentions Vero Beach, DW, DS, and I love it but are worried that it might be too laid back for the rest of the family.

Any suggestions? :confused3

Florida is a large state from a driving standpoint, maybe 20 hours from one corner to the other. Where does your family live and what type of vacation do you want. The things that come to mind that have some comparability to the DVC experience are the Marriott's and Hyatt's. I've stayed at Ocean Pointe and it's a nice resort. However, it just doesn't grab us, we like VB much better. And while OP is closer to some things, it's not really that much more accessible than VB. City walk is maybe 20 minutes south, Jupiter 10-15 min north. But depending on when you want to travel, the points for an exchange may be much less than to stay at VB. Feb to mid April will be very tough to get. Of course you'd be low man on the unit assignment list which means you'll not likely get much of a view unless you're off season, Marriott puts far more emphasis on unit assignments than does DVC. Legends Edge and Doral will give you a golf experience. Beachplace Towers will be more in the middle of it all. Key West, well, is KW. And there's Sanibel and Captiva, more of a HH feel I suppose.
