If I was your child's friend's parent and I found out you were tracking ME, there would be hell to pay.No one bad, we're just hesitant to let our kids out with most people. For example, if our oldest DD was catching a ride home from a school function with a friends parents then we could track that they're on their way. Especially if they're running a bit later than expected. Or if the girls are attending a scouting function that's running later than the anticipated arrival time. Kids don't always answer their phones or call to check in.
A phone is a reasonable way to know when your child is on their way. They text you when they are leaving. They text you if they are running late. Or you can text the parent to see what is going on.
No need to spy on adults taking your child home. If you can't trust your child's friend's parents then I would suggest you go pick your child up from the school function.
