DF is from Winnipeg, MB so not many from his family could attend. Especially his beloved grand parents who he is very close to (you will see later how we made them a part of the wedding anyways). His mom and brother flew out here to Ontario on Wednesday the 15th.

Yesterday I went to my salon to have my hair cut/colored. Mistake….should have done it a couple of weeks ago….I am a natural red head and I usually get a few very subtle blond highlights….well I made the mistake of saying I wanted a little more!! Well I am not so much a redhead anymore….and somehow even the red doesn’t look the same color….I have no time to have it corrected so I am stuck with it! Lesson learned! I did have a facial yesterday which felt great!

It is now 7 am on the morning of the 17th….the day we leave for WDW!!! I have been up since 4:30 because I can’t sleep so I decided to get started on this! I have always said I am going to do a TR but have never before so I will try to commit to this one! We have to wait for my bro to finish work to head down to the airport, this morning I am going to the salon for my mani/pedi. Our flight leaves at 4:40 and we have a 2 hour drive across the border to catch it. We are cutting it very close and the border crossings have not been doing so great this week! I can’t wait to get to the airport (on time) but I know everything will fast forward from there and be over way too soon!

We are pretty well all packed, have all wedding stuff to be carried on plane and paperwork in hand! Flying SWA and managed to get us all A’s yesterday when I checked us in . When we arrive in the world I have to get our AP’S (DS AND I), get DF wedding gift (can’t tell you now what it is but it’s a good one!!) And get our Mickey and Minnie champagne flutes and have them engraved!

Up next.....We made it to the airport (or... crap!! we missed our flight!)

DAY 1 Cont’d…….Phew! We made it!

We managed to all meet and get on the road on time with only a couple minor hiccups. We started our 4 car convoy to Buffalo. We were watching border wait times at each of the 3 bridges we could cross at, ultimately deciding on Ft Erie. We made it to the off site airport parking lot with only a minor delay at the border. What chaos getting 14 people, 3 sets of golf clubs, 2 strollers, 1 ECV and about 16 suitcases on 2 airport shuttle vehicles. We managed to all get on and start heading to the airport when I realized I was missing something---MY DRESS!!!! It was in my sisters car and they were going to be taking it but they were in a different shuttle. We get to the airport and she didn’t have it either!!!

I grab her keys and stay on the shuttle, back to the lot, grab the dress, hop back on the shuttle and back to the airport. I find my family still trying to all get checked in….against DF’s advice they used curbside check in and those guys were not happy!!! Gus forgot to mention the lap baby and my mom forgot to mention her ECV…..I then go inside to check on DF and he is trying to get in the bags….one was 5 lbs over!!! We get that sorted out and we are off to security. Eventually everyone gets through and we get to our gate. DF goes to grab us a bite to eat--its 3:45 and we haven’t eaten yet!

I go to gate check the three strollers and ECV…..finally I sit down going to eat and they start announcing pre-boarding. We were wearing bride/groom to be buttons and I am carrying my dress….a girl comes up and is like are you getting married at Disney….turns out they were on the way down for their planning session!!! By the time I thought to ask her if she was a dis bride it was too late.

I then have to get all of my family together over in pre-board….I will pause here to explain about my family….great people, love them all…..but they become like children when they travel. Depend on me for every detail and instruction, the stress and responsibility can be overwhelming at times…..but I loved that they were all coming and as DF reminded me--you asked for this!

Finally we start to board, I am carrying the dress (which I am certain ways over 50lbs) and DF is carrying the laptop bag and the duffle with all of the other wedding things I didn’t trust to check. SWA was on time and got us in a bit early--luv them! Once we get everything off the plane and get the strollers and ECV we head to the DME desk.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention the video camera! DF’s grandparents couldn’t travel so my dad decided he would buy a video camera to record the entire trip for them. He drove us crazy with that thing and it is only day one!!! But this shows the kind of guy my dad is--incredibly kind and thoughtful and as sweet as they get--yup I am a daddy’s girl!

We get to DME and there is nobody there (about 7:30 pm). I get everyone checked in and in line for the bus and DF and I go to p/u the rental car. We decide on a Malibu LT because it has so much trunk space as we will be leaving some stuff in the trunk when we park the car at the DCL port. I had made the mistake of telling the family I would stop at the grocery store for water and a couple of things if they wanted anything….I got a huge list! We went to Publix and then on to ASSP.

When we got there they were waiting in the lobby, they checked in and the boys were having complete melt downs. My bro and his family did get first visit buttons already! We waited in the line (always slow check in here) and after check in we all went to the food court for a bite to eat…..finally I ate…never did eat the food bought for me at the airport. We all head to our rooms, which were connecting and all together for the wait for our luggage. Finally got it all at 11:30.…everything made it. Between SWA and DME not one piece misplaced!

Now here I sit typing this out at 7 am….as usual I am awake long before everyone else, sitting here in the dark passing time til we get the day started. I decided to use this time to type my TR in a word doc to cut and paste in a post once I get an internet connection!

Today…..we change resorts (should be seamless-not!!!) and then head to MGM!!!

Congratulations!! You and I will share the same wedding anniversary! On the day you get married, I will be celebrating my one year anniversary! Last year we got married on August 21st, 2006! Congratulations on your upcoming day!!
