Catching up!

Whilst I was sorry to find that your insides were churning after the Pirates raft and Aladdin carpet at DQ, I have to admit that I was relieved to read it. I was the same.

WOW! That UO card was gold! Amazing! What a fantastic treat. I was interested in your comments about the parade. We missed out as it rained and they cancelled it. It will have to wait until next time. Thanks for sharing.

I didn't mind the raft and thoroughly enjoyed the Pirate challenge, but that Aladdin virtual reality thing was plain awful. I felt like I couldn't breath in that head piece and was so claustrophobic I started having a mild panic attack. When I ripped it off my head early in the game the CM saw my distress and didn't seem at all surprised. It must be common for people to hate that thing.

Also, I agree about the universal gold card - what a score! Imagine how handy that would be when the new HP area opens up.

We were so blessed to get that gold guest pass. It really did change our experience at Universal. At times, it did feel uncomfortable being walked in front of people who had obviously been waiting for a while. What was sweet was that the staff member sent me an email last evening to make sure that we have a good day!

And you definitely did not miss out on much by not seeing the parade! Disney's shows truely are superb and not many even come close. I think I really took for granted simple things like co-ordinating music so it flows and transitions are seamless. I am a big fan of Disney musical arrangements.

I don't usually get motion sickness at all but I think the two together in succession really was a bad idea! And yes I can understand how it can feel claustrophobic with that head piece on. At times, I felt like I couldn't breathe.

We couldn't believe our luck when we discovered the discounts and perks we were getting. I assumed it was simply like the front of line passes, and that the discounts would be in the order of 10-20%. As for WWoHP, we could see the new expansion being built and I was thinking the same thing! Unfortunately I don't see us heading towards the USA again in the near future :(

Yup. The Aladdin thing really got to me too. And I rarely get claustrophobic and motion sick like that.

That's sad.

But I think I'm in the same boat. :(

Finally caught up! There's way too much to comment on individually, so I'll just say it looks like you're having a great time :thumbsup2

Although I haven't seen anything about Universal Studios yet, so it seems like I've missed something :confused3

Hi Zanzibar,
I'm not sure if Shushh has posted a link to her Universal post, but if you go into her blog it's part of the menu on the left. It sounds like she had a pretty amazing VIP day.

Thanks! Sounds like it's worth reading about :thumbsup2

Thanks for asking the question Zanzibar. I also thought I had missed something. And I though we were lucky with VIP tour at Universal California!

Hi guys! We're back from our cruise and into the land of free wifi!

I'm sorry for confusing everyone. Sometime I forget to post my links on the front page. Its usually a rush to get the blog itself finished. I'll be slowly updating the past 7 days and catching up on the photos. But Savannah will be up shortly!

DH is slowly coming round to the idea of a Disney cruise in the Caribbean - yes! but as two very seasick prone travelers as you say, I will be interested to hear how your two got on on the 7 days when you double back to fill in your trip. Glad your parents ended up sorted - I hate dealing with car hire. Looking forward to more when you get time.

Wendy, we are ok with seasickness but two of our friends are extremely prone to seasickness and motion sickness. Scopolamine patches does wonders. Unfortunately not available in Australia! The group ordered some from Canada. They do cause dry mouth and some people feel drowsy or lightheaded but it got our two through! They are both booked on future cruises!

Great updates, Shussh. Pity about the car; and that you had to use the front passenger seat for the bags. Still, if it got you from point A to B, that's all that matters, right?

Mostly! We're glad we do have a car that big enough as they seem to be sold out everywhere. But we only just made it into the carpark of our hotel! I was so stressed that we were going to scrape the car!

I have just added another must do city when I next visit the US. Atlanta! I am also a Coke tragic. I even collect coke cans from anywhere in the world I can. I got an aluminium 'bottle' in Vegas. I was very excited!

WOW! Oh WOW! I wanna go there and drink myself silly. Bet there wasn't a Beverley in sight! Was there somewhere you could go for a coke bath??? Great update. :thumbsup2

We went a bit silly in there! We tried so many that we all felt a little ill afterwards. Princess you'd love the history and memoribilia section, so much to photograph!
