TPAS2 Alumni and friends thread

Cruz, you didn't need to point yourself out in the picture. We knew which one was you.

How did you all like the Super Bowl. I thought the 3rdQ dragged but the 4th was very exciting. I don't think it was the best ever but some of the plays were fantastic.

I thought the whole thing stunk!!! I came so close to winning on my football squares way to many time to count, but I ended up with a great big nothing. As far as the game itself, I guess it was good.....woulda been much better with some extra $'s in my pocket. Oh ya, one good note...my food was delish!! Ribs, slider, potato wedges, and stuffed portobellos.

I didn't watch the Superbowl. Watched a movie with a friend and her parents and went to bed early.

We watched the game, it was ok!

It was lacking one thing though.....the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS! :sad2:

A co-worker of mine is a huge Steelers fan, so we had to tolerate him yesterday, the majority of us told him we didn't watch the game though, so once he heard that, he stopped his bragging! :lmao:

cruz, I made ribs too. I smoked them for about 4 hours over oak charcoal and hickory chunks. I finished them with a bourbon sauce so they were "wet" style. I made three whole racks cause once you get the smoker going you might as well do a bunch.

I missed the Pats too, but wait till next year. Maybe the Houston Texans will work some wonders????

Tig, are you feeling ok?

I am with you on the wet style...the sauce I make is kinda tangy and spicy, kind of a Memphis style. It was just too cold to get the smoker going here. I ended up doing mine in the oven on a rack. I put mixture of apple cider vinegar, a little liquid smoke (I know, I know), and hot sauce under the rack and tented them with foil to give them a little steem bath. I gotta say they were pretty darn good....for a Yankee that is!! LOL

BTW, anything new with DVC???

I just wanted to share my great news.....my 11 year old son was asked to attend a summer program at MIT. We are all so thrilled, especially him....for the last couple of years he has insisted that is where he wants to go for college.

That's great news! Good for him! At 11 he already knows he wants to go to MIT...that's awesome! :thumbsup2

If my oldest doesn't start doing his term papers he's going to see my MITT

:lmao:

Thanks guys! We are very lucky, and he only turned 11 three weeks ago. I will let you in on a little joke between my DH and I...... We have one son that is gifted and the other we would like to regift. I know its terrible, but we never say it to them....besides we are just kidding....my 15yr old is "special" in his own way.:rolleyes1

Cruz, I have 4 kids, all so different, and I totally understand your sentiment. I've wanted to regift at least 3 out of the 4 at various times. Right now I'm not wanting to regift any of them, but it's probably because I only have 2 left at home now.

I'm here......

I'm also newly unemployed! I got laid off from my job last Wednesday! I'm sort of glad it finally happened, the stress in that place over the past 5 months has been intense...but I also miss it! I honestly have no idea what to do with myself, I've filed for unemployment...so I'm supposed to be looking for a job, but there are no jobs out there right now. I also don't know what exactly I want to do going forward either! :confused3

So enough rambling about me.....how is everyone, and where IS everyone???

HELLOOOOOOO?????:yay:

At first I was going to say 'I am sorry to hear that"....but it sounds like a not so bad thing for you. I hope everything works out well.

I am doing pretty good...my Interior Design has slowed waaaayyyyy down. But thanks to Obamas "pork infused" stimulus....Mass has plenty of dollars for low/no income childcare. :sad2: So my daycare is doing very well.

On a lighter note....
Our cruise is just under two months away. I am keeping my fingers crossed we make it....because I found out last week that we needed an original of our birth certificates. I can't believe after being with my husband for over 17 years, I just find out now he doesn't have one. He was born in Puerto Rico so we just sent for one.....hopefully it gets here before the trip.:scared:

Wickie-Chickie, after 17 years at the same job I too was laid off acouple of weeks ago. My job is pretty specialized and it looks like I might have too start traveling to make ends meet. It is so hard to explain to people what it is like and keep smiling. Hang in there and if I find myself in Boston for acouple weeks working lets have a beer.

Oh John, I'm so sorry to hear about your job also. It really s*cks doesn't it? It's amazing how longevity at a certain place means nothing now a days doesn't it?

If you find yourself in Boston, definately let me know. Cruz and I will most definately find you! :thumbsup2

Take care, and hang in there!

Kathy
