Our bathroom remodel project is starting on Monday. Two months of hll are about to begin.

One great thing though. My new TV is getting delivered on Friday. It is a 50" Panasonic plasma. Also getting a PS3 unit to play games and watch HD Blu Ray movies. A little fun for Dad.

We got a 42" last year, and love it!
Make sure you take before and after pics of the bathroom, it sure is nice to remind yourself what all the aggravation was for. Some day I'll figure out how to show you guys some of my interior design work, who am I kidding everything will be out of style by the time I get with the program!

Hey everyone! I"m back from Disney World!! We had a great time as usual although it was a bit crowded. We were also picked as Family of the Day at Epcot on Saturday and that was just awesome, amazing...don't have enough words to describe it.

Disney and Careerbuilder picked the top 20 for the CMO contest and unfortunately I didn't make it. It was really sad, specially since i found out the day I was leaving for disney but all was forgotten the moment I stepped foot in MGM the following day!

I agree! I also would like a couple of dining reviews, especially if you ate at any new places (i.e. yak & yeti). Only a couple months to go till I can make my ADR's. Whoo Hoo!!!!

I'm in need of some major support from my fellow commandos. I received a notice yesterday from the Mass Dept. of Revenue that I am being audited. I haven't slept all night and I am just a mess.
C'mon guys where ya all at? (my southern accent comes out when I nervous)

Cruz-chickie, I have been audited three times no worries except if you do what I did and refuse to pay state taxes when living aboard (thats overseas get your minds out of the gutter), they kinda gang up yah when you return.
I didn't need that new BMW anyways. Look if everything is on the up and up, and you made a honest mistake its nothing really big. Two of my audits happened when they mistyped in my info. But I do have a spare sleeping bag if go on the run.

At the very best, what a pain! I've always half expected an audit when I did home daycare with our numerous deductions, but we've never had it happen. How does it work? Do you have a certain date that you have to gather everything together and present it to them?

I have to submit everything with in 30 days!
I really have not wrapped my head around how to copy all those receipts, and organize it so someone other then me can understand. I have almost two hundred food receipts alone! I know I've misplaced a few here and there, how am I going to handle that?????

Oh Cruz, you're being audited...that stinks!

The guy who used to do our taxes died last year, so my DH took our taxes to H&R Block, thank god he did too...our old tax dude messed up badly! We had to re-file 4 years of returns, some we owed on..some we rec'd $$ back on...it was a mess! Thank god we didn't get audited during that time, we would have been scr*wed!

Take a deep breath Cruz, you seem like the kind of person who has every T crossed and every I dotted! You'll be fine!

I have to mail copies of everything with in 30 days. I have no idea what happens after that!

I would think that a few lost smallish receipts here and there wouldn't be an issue. Do the best you can. Why do you have food receipts?

I'm so glad that I don't do daycare anymore. The money would be nice right now, but it was a big hassle. We still have DH's home office deduction, but that's not too big of a deal.

I've been sick (and out of town) since Sat night. Urgent care thought that I have the flu because of my fever and body aches, but I don't (and I don't have strep). Just a nasty virus that's a lot like the flu. I'm hoping it won't last long at least. I fly home tomorrow, so I sure hope I'm better by then.

Because I feed the kids. For some of the children I take care of, what I give them is the only "real meal" they get.

Send what you can. They probably have to find some problem to justify their audit time. The auditor may see the huge bundle of receipts and say you are missing some and fine you a couple of bucks and you are done.

Just like a deposition, don't offer anything except what they ask for. Play dumb (which for you should not be hard, (just joking))

If the audit starts really tearing into you and there is a lot of $ on the table you may want to retain counsel or a CPA or just try to cut a reasonable deal.
