Toystoryduo's Journal....Moving Forward From Here

Sorry to hear about your dog. It must be tough on the girls, but your family always has a positive outlook on these situations which will help.

Tracy, I am so sorry about Peanut. They really do become part of the family. I hope you and the girls and your dh are doing okay. Its been a tough year foryou guys on the dog front, just know I am keeping you guys in my prayers.

Thank you Tracey, Lesli, Lisa, Amy, and Amy. :grouphug:

Yesterday was a sad day for us, but we are relieved that Peanut is no longer suffering. One of the most amazing things happened yesterday....When the girls found out our other dog passed away, a certain song was playing on the radio. (I can't remember the name of it right now!:headache: ) Yesterday, when they found out that Peanut had passed away, the exact same song was on the radio! I told the girls that this was God's way of telling them that Peanut was okay.

We didn't get much accomplished yesterday. We went out to eat, went to the grocery store, DH worked for a couple of hours, and then we came home and watched Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol before heading to bed.

Today's plan is to go to the zoo, but it may not be warm enough for us to go. I'll have to come up with a Plan B and see what my DH and DDs think.

I need to spend the next few days getting caught up on work and making a game plan for the rest of the year. I've got DD8's birthday party to plan for, birthday gifts to buy, Christmas presents to buy, and a homeschooling schedule to get planned. I'll try and have the game plan written down by Sunday.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day today!:goodvibes Thank you so much for your good thoughts and prayers!:grouphug:

Tracy -- I am so sorry about your family's loss, but I hope your family is finding comfort in knowing that Peanut is with her former playmate, frolicking in Heaven.

It is so good to check in on your journal and to see that you are still doing all the wonderful things you do so well -- homeschooling, running your household, spending fun times with the girls and your DH, supporting DH's work efforts, and being such an awesome budget-minded shepherd of your family's finances. You never cease to impress and amaze me, dear friend. :thumbsup2

That is cool that the same song was on! Did you make it to the zoo today?

That is really cool about the song. It is signs like that which really help get us through.

Good luck planning things out.

i think the song was definatley a sign :)
hope the girls are doing ok, did you make the zoo?

Thank you, ladies. :grouphug:

We did get to the zoo yesterday and we had a really nice time. It was a nice distraction from the stress and sadness of the week.

I've been busy today getting lesson plans done for the rest of the year. I've also been working on the "game plan" for the rest of the year as well. It is still a work in progress, but I was able to get a good start on it.

Tonight, we are going to work with my DH. We'll go shopping while he works. After that, we may/may not grab something to eat, and then we'll head to my MIL's to help her book her airfare for the trip.

Tomorrow, we will work on cleaning and organizing the kitchen and then we'll head to Family Fun Night at church. The girls hearts aren't in to trick or treating this year. :(

Sunday is church and errands. My DH may go to Michigan on Monday so we'll need to prep for the week on Sunday.

That's about all from here...Hope everyone has a nice weekend!:grouphug:

Glad to hear you got some much needed fun at the zoo!

My DD10 almost didn't want to go trick-or-treating this year, but she decided the candy was worth it! DS13 did not go last year, but is going this year with his friends. :scared1: I guess we have to let them grow up sometime, right? :confused3

Have a great time shopping tonight!

Thanks Amy.

We're getting ready to head out to Family Fun Night in a few minutes.

I ordered my DH some work clothes from Dickies. There's a code for 50% off so we took advantage of it. Coat+ overalls= $43 (w/tax) They normally would have totaled over $100.

Tomorrow we have to go pick up a rental car. My DH has to go to MI for work on Monday. We may/may not go with him. It's a 12 hour drive round trip so it would be a long day for all of us. However, he does have to work at the mill on Monday morning so I'm concerned about how tired he will be. We'll have to wait and see....

Hope everyone has a great evening!:grouphug:

Tracy, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your little Peanut. Its so sad to lose a beloved family member. I'm glad you and your family were able to do something fun this weekend.

Thank you again for visiting my journal. I really enjoy having my extended Dis family! Thanks for you input on my resort dilemma. I am thinking it will be AKL!!!!!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Thanks Denise and Tracey. :grouphug:

Either one of two things will happen today....

A) We will go on the 12 hour round trip drive to Michigan with my DH.

OR

B) We won't. :rotfl:

I'm still not sure yet. We enjoy traveling with him for work, but 12 hours is a long drive when you're not gong to WDW! ;) He'll call me in a little while and let me know how he is feeling. He had to be up early to work at the mill this morning so we'll see.... If we don't go, it will be back to our normal routine.

If we do end up going, that will give me a lot of time to read and work on my end of the year game plan. I have lesson plans done through the end of 2009. That took a few hours. The rest of the game plans consists of planning for the holidays and WDW and working on getting back OP with weight loss and exercise.

I'm going to start getting things ready in case we go. Please send good thoughts/prayers for safe travel...My DH will travel either way.

Have a wonderful day!:goodvibes

Soooooo... Did you go?? I'm with you, 12 hours in the car is a long time!! Especially if there is no Mickey at the end! :goodvibes

My DH decided that he felt fine and went to Michigan after working at the mill. He arrived there around 1:00 p.m. so he should be home before 9:00 or 10:00 this evening. Good thoughts for his safe travels are much appreciated! :goodvibes

I am having a hard time getting into gear today. :( The good news is that homeschooling is done for the day. :goodvibes The lessons are much longer this quarter so teaching takes a lot more energy than usual.:faint: I need to straighten up the house and work on my game plan, but I really don't feel like it. I think I will go outside and rake leaves. Maybe that will get me motivated. (Or maybe not! :lmao: )

Hope everyone has a great day!

That song was definitely a sign that Peanut is okay. Its amazing sometimes the signs that God sends to us. I hope you guys are doing okay, I know you will really miss your fur baby.

I am glad your dh went to Michigan so that you had some time to get things done. As you say, that's a long trip when you aren't heading to Orlando! I will pray for a safe journey for him.

That is awesome you got your lesson plans for 2009 done.

I hope today was a good one for you and the girls!:goodvibes

Thanks Amy.

My DH got home from MI around midnight and had to be back at the mill at 6:00 a.m. this morning. He's got 3 or 4 other jobs to do today so he will be busy today as well.

Yesterday, the hardware store that is about a 10 minute walk from our house caught on fire. My DH called me about it around 7:30 p.m. last night. (My BIL called him and told him.) We heard a lot of sirens, but we didn't realize that the fire was so close to home. Thank God that no one was hurt!

I've been missing Peanut a lot. :sad1: It's especially hard when we come home and she's not waiting at the door for us. I know God will see us through this, but it's kind of tough right now. :(

Today's Plan:

* Vote
* Party planning
* Make some online purchases (ink for the computer, e.t.c)
* Get organized (not gonna happen in one day)

That's about all from here...Hope everyone has a nice day!:grouphug:
