Toystoryduo's Journal....Moving Forward From Here

Two weeks from today, we'll be leaving for Florida!!!!:woohoo::yay::dance3::cheer2: We're all getting pretty excited here! :dance3:

Our 14 day countdown has begun....Here's what the girls' contests/ fun days look like:

Day 14: Start Packing Day! (TODAY!!!!)

Day 13: Woody's Roundup (Girls will "tag team" to get their chores done. If finished in a reasonable amount of time, they'll get Disney Dollars!)

Day 12: Change Counts Day (Time to count the change jar!)

Day 11: Crazy Can Cash In Day (Girls will estimate how much money they will earn for recycling cans; DH takes cans to recycling center and the person who guessed the closest wins Disney Dollars!)

Day 10: Disney Dollar Trivia Day ( For every 10 correct answers, the girls will each earn $1 Disney Dollar.)

Day 9: Be a Mousekeeper Day (Using their stuffed animals and Disney souvenirs, create a Disney display like Mousekeeping would in Florida. Towel Animals earn $1 each! Winner earns Disney Dollars.)

Day 8: Design a new Disney Ride Day (Each girl will design a new Disney attraction. Entries will be judged by family and friends. Winner earns Disney Dollars! )

Day 7: Dollar Store Chore-a-Rama Day (Girls will pick up extra chores around the house and will earn money towards a Dollar Store trip for batteries, e.t.c)

Day 6: Disney Dollar Dash (De-clutter rooms; bring me 5 items you would like to donate to charity that you no longer use/need. Each 5 item "donation" = $1 Disney Dollar.)

Day 5: Buzz's Blitz (Get chores done in 15 minutes or less and earn Disney Dollars!)

Day 4: Jessie's Jackpot Challenge (Make good choices, work hard on school work, be kind to sister, help mom and dad. For each positive thing we catch the girls doing, we'll add a quarter to the Jackpot. At the end of the day, we'll add the money up, and split in half.)

Day 3: Deal or No Deal Disney Style (Girls will have chance to play game like on TV except the Dollar amounts will be MUCH smaller! ;) )

Day 2: Disney Pictionary (Girls vs. parents; if girls win, they'll get Hannah Montana the Movie to watch on the way to Florida. If not, we'll save it for December. ;) )

Day1: Disney Jeopardy (Girls will play a Jeopardy game that I made up. If they beat their dad's dollar amount that is posted at the beginning of the game, they'll win a prize- a new Nintendo DS game!)

Did you notice the Toy Story references and that I tried to revolve some of these things around chores? ;)

Not sure what today's plans will be.... Soccer appears to still be on for now. I'm not sure if my BIL will go camping now with all the rain we've had. If he does, then we'll watch my nephew overnight.

Hope everyone has a great day today!:grouphug:

Thanks Tracey. :)

We had a good weekend. Soccer, out to eat twice, running errands, and relaxation. Nice. :)

We also started our countdown contests. The girls like the idea and are looking forward to the contests. Today, we'll be counting change from the change jar and guessing how much money is in there. Person closest to the correct amount wins a Disney Dollar.

We are going off schedule today...My DH has a very rare day off from work so we'll head out to run some Disney errands and to enjoy this fall like weather. We'll resume homeschooling tomorrow.

I had a dream last night about some friends I went to high school with. They saw how much weight I have gained and laughed and laughed and laughed. :guilty: No wonder why I was mad when I woke up! ;) :lmao: It is a reminder though that I need to lose this weight. Not just for appearance sake, but for my health and so that I can be a good role model for my girls. I don't want them facing the struggles with weight that I have faced.

In a couple of days, I can check us in online....EXCITING!!!!! I can't wait to go to Florida!:cloud9:

Hope everyone has a great day today!:grouphug:

Hi Tracy:wave2:
You asked if it is too early for allergies. Not for me. I suffer year round. I am home today because I was sick when I woke up. Of course my first thought was "oh no, swine flu". But I quickly realized it was just my sinus, but I am still wiped out after an episode, so here I am. Hope yours didn't give you too much trouble after mowing.

Love the schedule you have set up for the next two weeks with the contests and all. You come up with the best ideas. :thumbsup2 Sounds like so much fun. I bet y'all have great trips.

Did the storms get y'all? We were suppose to have rain all weekend, but didn't. Just a bit Sunday morning. Those North of us got a lot more from what I understand on the DIS.

:yay: for your DH having a real day off. Those can be so nice when completely unexpected.

Have a great day Tracy!:flower3:

Thanks Lisa. I'm sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. :( I hope you feel better soon!:wizard:

Can you believe the storms almost completely bypassed us? We got a lot of rain and it is so much cooler outside, but the huge line of storms went just north of where we live.

Today has been an okay day so far. Allergies are acting up big time! :( The only medicine that really seems to work for me is Benadryl, but it always leaves me feeling tired and worn out. I wish the non drowsy allergy meds worked for me, but I have yet to find one that takes away the allergy symptoms like Benadryl does.

My DH and I are going to sit down tonight and discuss our alternate plans for leaving next Saturday. We had planned to leave around 5:00 p.m. , but with soccer games, pictures, and a graduation party, we're probably going to have to push it back a couple of hours. That means if my DH's cousin is available for dinner that evening in Orlando, we're going to have to push that back too. We'll try and get things squared away this evening.

Hope everyone has a nice evening!:grouphug:

Tracy, Benadryl is what I use also. Plain ole Benadryl. I use to use a prescription called Bromfed-PD and it worked great. But I had to quit taking it when I got pregnant with DD and after I stopped nursing, I tried to get it again and they had stopped making it. I had used Benadrl while I was pregnant and it worked, so I just kept on with it. Would you believe it just a couple weeks ago started making me sleepy when I take it?

Well, I'm sure you wanted to know all of that. ;) I hope you all were able to work out your time schedule for D-Day.

so who won guessing the change in the jar?

My allergies are acting up in a big way today. :( Not sure why exactly....I'm trying to avoid taking Benadryl. We have soccer and a birthday party to attend and if I take Benadryl, I'll be out like a light. Maybe I'll take some after we get home....

Homeschooling went well...DDs both did well on their science tests. Moving on to a study on vertebrates tomorrow.

I haven't gotten much done in terms of our trip. I was too tired today and ended up taking a nap. I've got cleaning, packing, and organizing to do and it's not getting done. Guess I'll think about that tomorrow. ;)

Hope everyone has a nice evening! :grouphug:

Oh Tracy, I hope you feel better soon. Hope soccer and the bday party went well and you can get some relief and rest now.

Okay, so I must have had too much tea today....I can't sleep! :( So what do I do when I can't sleep? I work on Disney details of course!:thumbsup2 What I did this evening was check on our car rental rates and I was able to save us over $30 on September's car rental and over $40 on December's rental. That's almost half of the money that we need for MVMCP!!!:cheer2: Very exciting!!!:woohoo:

I've also been reading trip reports and checking out the other planning boards as well. If everyone wasn't asleep already, I'd use this time to pack and organize. ;)

Once I'm done here, I plan on doing some reading until I feel tired enough to fall asleep. I think I'll grab a magazine or Mousejunkies.

Have a great day tomorrow!:goodvibes (Well, today. ;) )

Okay...Not being able to sleep was good because I got both car rentals rates lowered, but guess who woke up tired this morning? :rolleyes1 I might see a nap in my future. ;)

Busy day ahead...We've got our normal morning schedule and then we've got lots of running around to do. :faint:

DD7 has a dentist appointment tomorrow and may have to have a tooth or two pulled. If you have any spare :wizard: to share, she sure would appreciate it!:thumbsup2

Hope everyone has a wonderful day today!:grouphug:

Okay, Wish Sis, I am caught up with you!

Those nintendo ds games are soooo small. Dd has lost some and then they turn up, hope yours does too!

I can't believe you leave next week! Keep checking those car rental sites, you might be able to save even more as your dates get closer. If not, that is awesome you saved enough to help cover MVMCP!

I love your Disney games and contests. That is so clever. You need to start up a site for Disney lovers who need fun ideas to make the time go faster between trips and help earn money in the process!

So how much did your change jar have? Love that day when dd and I take ours in, it means the trip is close!

Congrats on the loss and I had to laugh but get a bit misty eyed about your dream. I have had those dreams before too. I am telling you, we put so much pressure on ourselves with our weight, we even dream about it!

Hope today was a good one, sorry I've been gone since Friday.

:yay::woohoo::banana::dance3::cool1: We are officially 9 days away from our departure to WDW. We'll arrive in Florida in 10, but who's counting? ;)

TOM arrived yesterday, which is good since it won't be visiting while in Florida.

Busy day ahead....Morning schedule + dentist appointment + soccer + coffee with my friend

Weekend is looking good...We have soccer and deejaying on Saturday and after that, our schedule is free and clear until Tuesday.

That's all for now...Have a great day!:grouphug:

Forgot to add.... We had $18 in our change jar. That's enough for 7 Mickey bars!!! ;)

:banana::banana: for single digits!:banana::banana:

The next week is going to be so busy (and exciting) for you. Way to go on the change jar. :thumbsup2 My DD saves up her money for Mickey Bars. She loves them.
Congrats on lower car rates. Any saved $$ helps in my opinion. I've done that where I can't sleep. Amazing what all you can get done when the house is totally quiet.

and most of all???? :woohoo: for a clear schedule for a couple of days.

:wizard::wizard::wizard: for DD. Hope her appointment went well.

Thanks Lisa.

So, I went to Alamo's website and plugged in my info again and the rate dropped another $23!!!! Our car rental rate was originally $321 and it's now at $266 for two full weeks!!!!!:cheer2: Yippee!:yay:

I also weighed in this morning and I'm down 1.4 pounds.

We've got so much to do this weekend that I'm not really sure where to start. Tomorrow will be our busiest day with soccer and deejaying and after that it will be packing, cleaning, and getting ready for Florida.

DD7's appointment went well yesterday. She was so nervous getting a tooth pulled, but she did a wonderful job. I am so proud of her!

Well, that's about all from here....Hope everyone has a great Friday!:grouphug:

Way to go!:worship: How do you do it? Wonder if it'll drop again before you leave? :goodvibes

Pace yourself. You don't want to wear yourself out before you leave.

I'm glad she did so well. I don't care for the dentist either.

Have a great weekend Tracy.

Thanks Lisa.

My allergies are kind of bad right now. I'm trying to avoid taking the Benadryl because I have so much to do, but I may have to just break down and do it. I'm already worn out......

Both girls lost their games today, but played wonderfully! DD8 scored two goals and both girls played some awesome defense!:cheer2: I'm proud of them fro trying their best. ::yes::

Slowly working on cleaning and packing....I just don't have much energy right now. :faint:

One week from today, we're leaving from Florida! It's a good thing the banana can dance because I am too tired to. ;)

Have a great weekend!:grouphug:

Tracy
Just keep repeating to yourself: "One week, one week and I will be in my happy place." That should give you some energy. :thumbsup2

Hi Tracy,

Have you tried something like Claritin or Zyrtec? With Zrytec you have to take it at night because it does make you drowsy, but then by morning you are fine. Dd takes that. I love Benadryl but it just knocks me out so I have to take a non drowsy formula or a 24 hour kind like zrytec I can take at night. I hate allergies!

That is great about your car. Keep checking everday, I am telling you, I do that and love to watch those rates drop! This will all just be more money for you to spend at WDW.

7 Mickey Bars.:cloud9: Make sure you think of me while you eat one of those!

Sorry the girls lost their games but its great they played so well. You are down to a week now, its going to fly by.

And many congrats on losing another 1.4. And getting TOM out of the way before vacaton!

Thanks ladies!:grouphug:

I am feeling somewhat better today. I actually have some energy! I'm going to try and take advantage of the energy and get some cleaning and organizing done today. We need to work on packing too. :)

I really, really, really need to make a list of things that need to get done, both for work and for home before we leave. With so much going on this week, I don't want to forget anything.

That's about all from here...Have a great Sunday everyone!:grouphug:

DH laughs at my notebook full of info and lists, but hey it works and everything is right where it should be. Although there is always something small that we end up stopping at WalMart for on the way. Always.

Have a great evening Tracy.
