toys for airplane

My son loves the hand-held games, the ones similar to Gameboys, but not as expenseive. I found a really cool one at Best Buy last night. It is the Disney Trivia game. It is shaped liked Mickey's head and has a little screen and shows pictures of the characters and then asks questions like what movie was I in, etc. It plays music, too. It is really neat. I have put it away for the plane trip.

Try "character" food. My 3.5 yo DD loves the Sesame Street snacks. She likes to count how many Elmos, Big Birds, Berts, etc. she has and then eats them, this takes up lots of time and it can even be a mini-math lesson. She will also sing the songs that go with the characters. Richard Scarry cookies are another favorite (kind of like animal crackers), she likes to make up stories with them while she eats. Also time consuming. What can I say, my dd likes to play with her food!

Hope this helps.
Mary :)
