Hello!
I am going to Bangkok for work in April (from Toronto). I'm thinking of breaking up the trip back with an Asian Disney stop. Which one is easier for a stop over, and better for a single female (who has never been to Asia!)? I can do 1-2 days. I'm already gone for awhile and need to return to my family - but this seems like a good opportunity to get another Disney in (we are also doing Paris in July!).
TIA :)

If you're just going to drop by for one or two days and only do the Disney park, then Hong Kong is better.
It's more English friendly, smaller and overall easier.

Tokyo Disney has two parks which take a lot more planning. First time visitors to Asia can find it overwhelming.

In addition to Hong Kong Disneyland being an easier park to do with limited time, I think someone living in Toronto could easily skip the city of Hong Kong because you can find like 80-90% of the experience back home. By contrast, Tokyo has many more interesting things to offer and is a perfect gateway to even more unique experiences around Japan. So I'd recommend taking a longer trip to Japan with 3-4 days in the Tokyo parks and some time spent on other things as well.

Your flight from Toronto will likely have a layover in Hong Kong or Haneda anyway which may make the decision for you. Japan is the better resort, However if you are just taking a quick trip from Bangkok then Hong Kong is easier. It is a way shorter flight and then simply walk out of the airport and take a taxi ride ro the resort, whereas Japan will be slightly more confusing trying to figure out a train or bus to the resort.

Thanks for this! I don't actually live in Toronto - it's just my airport (I'm about an hour), but I get what you are saying. I would love to see Tokyo, but I'll already be leaving my kid for 10 nights for work - so if I add anything else it need to be short. Hong Kong seems to make sense :)

Save Tokyo Disney for when you can take a longer trip to Japan with your family. It's highly worth visiting!

The two Tokyo parks really require at least two full days, one for each. If you can't add at least 2 or 3 nights in Tokyo, I would probably go with Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Disneyland is a very short taxi ride from the airport, although train is an option too. English is more prevalent. And the park is just very laid back and enjoyable. Hong Kong Disneyland was our first International Disney park, and in retrospect I'm glad it was our first. On its own, there are parts of it that really shine and it takes me back to Disneyland in the 80s in how easy it is to tour the park.

Thanks everyone! I'm starting to think I will skip a Disney visit, as much as it pains me. I was planning on HK for one night (arriving in HK around 2pm, leaving the next day at 5pm), but that just seems so rushed, especially after being in Bangkok for work for 9 nights during the hottest month of the year :(
