Toy weapons at Mickey's Trick-or-Treat Party

Here's a question for those of you who have gone to the DCA Halloween event "Mickey's Trick or Treat Party".

I am going to the party wearing a replica Han Solo costume. I am hoping to also bring along a plastic toy "blaster" that is part of this costume. This weapon does not look like a real gun and the only way you'd hurt someone is buy throwing it at them (which I would never do).

The rules on Disneyland's website state this about costume weapons: Costumes should not contain any weapons which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.

Has anyone had any experience bringing plastic toy guns? TIA!



PS: I am probably going to stay safe and not bring it, just to avoid any troubles, unless I hear that others have done this successfully with no challenge.

I would say that it fits within what they state is not permitted. I would leave it behind.

Also, you are going to have bags of candy that you are carrying around. Do you want to lug that around with you all night? I wouldn't. Another reason I would leave it behind.

buy it at dl then they cant say anything the gun and sword i got my son for his pirate set came from disneyshopping.com if they sell it it shouldnt be agenst the rules

They sell Han Solo blasters and light sabers at DLR...how could they then say no?

The blaster we bought in Tomorrowland, however, is orangey-red, which I'm sure was done so that it does not look like a real weapon. Is your weapon, well, weapon-colored, or is it bright like they've made their weapons? Our "blaster" doesn't look theatening and is obviously one of theirs, b/c of the colors.


FYI with light sabers, you can buy them much more cheaply outside of the parks. The cheapie ($10 at Disney) no light no sound with beltclips are between 6.99 and 8.99 at Targets, Fred Meyer, and Toys R Us that we've seen so far. And if you look at Hasbro's site you can find where the other (not build your own) sabers are sold, for so much cheaper than at DL. But they are the exact same type!

I don't think light sabers can be confused with a "real weapon." Light sabers would be fine.

Thank you for the bright orange-red idea! I know what you're speaking of. That one would pass for a toy, no doubt! I will just buy that one when I am back in DLR this October.

Uh, I don't eat candy - not my thing - plus I have Han Solo's gun belt to hold the toy weapon in. I wouldn't have to lug it anywhere.
