Toy Story or Rockin Roller Coaster?

Will be hopping to HS in afternoon of a 9/10 crowd day. FP TS or RNRC?

We've found that RnR keeps a fairly long line well into the evening. The crowds die down quickly at TSMM and we've often been able to ride 4 times during the last hour of operation. I'd get a FP for the coaster.

It depends on when you go. TSMM is currently down one track due to prepping for Toy Story Land opening. At certain points between now and then, the other tracks will also close. I would say you will need TSMM more because of this.

If all of your party is open to it (and meet the age requirement) RNRC does have a single rider line which can help with wait times.

Here's the news article on the closures for TSMM: http://wdwnt.com/blog/2018/01/toy-s...are-toy-story-land-opening-hollywood-studios/

I'm having the same issue. I'm thinking of doing RnRC, because my family will stand in line for TSMM, but I don't think that I could get them to stand in a real line for RNRC.

UGGHH! Right after I posted this I read about TSMM third track closure. Just got TSMM FP for 2:40pm. Hoping to pick up a 4th FP for RNRC but I'm thinking we're going to be doing a LONG standby line.
Other option is to RD TSMM, early FP RNRC and hop to Epcot. But we were really hoping to do HS in the afternoon so we can do Fantasmic and SW fireworks. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. And maybe a beer.

Just adding my 2 cents... on a high volume day, don’t count on RNRC single rider line 100% being open.
We made that mistake- got a FP for it, and a TSMM FP became available in the park that day. We switched, assuming we could do single rider line for RNRC. When we tried several times, it wasn’t open, they said the wait just as long as the standby line. So we waited on line- which ended up being a 3 hr wait (about 50 mins longer than posted).
Just sharing our experience- so choose wisely lol. :)

Don't rely on the Single Rider Line at RnRC after noon. Especially at (very) busy days it is at least similarly long as the normal queue, as many think splitting up shortens the line. I was always on my own at RnRC and there were enough times (during Christmas) I was faster with the regular line instead of the SR-line...

Reports are that with the 3rd track down, TSMM is back to being worse than RNRC.

To me, I don't even need to ponder that question for a second...you need to FP+ RnR without question. TSMM line will die down as the day goes on, into the evening. RnR will not. If you can stay to when fireworks start and end you can literally walk right on TSMM. That's not the case for RnR, nearly ever.

Unfortunately it's a short day. Park closes at 8 and fireworks are at 8 so we can't ride TS as fireworks wind down.

Are you planning to see fireworks? If so, check the line for TSMM at 7:30pm, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's well under 30 minutes...you can show up for fireworks last second at HS and still get a great spot. If you aren't seeing fireworks, then go to TSMM at 7:45pm.

It's possible TSMM will still have a long-ish line later in the day, but my answer is just playing the odds. I can't tell you how many times we've literally walked right on TSMM at the end of the night...I mean literally, the CMs were just standing there waiting for guests to arrive. I've never, ever seen RnR like that, even at closing the line is still super long.

Uggh! I have FP for TSMM. Now I'm wondering if I need to change it. When did this get to be so stressful?

What time is your FP+? How big is your party? Even on crowded days, it's very possible to pick up additional FP+ for both of those rides, even last minute. You may be able to actually do both.

Just keep in mind that the posted wait times are intentionally exaggerated at night to discourage riders. The sign may say 60-70 minutes, while the actual wait could be 10-15. When in doubt, just ask the gate attendant.

Same dilemma, but we'll do HS in the am. We went TS and will RD RNRC. However, I think you can probably just flip a coin and go with the results.

We always fastpass Toy Story and since we rope drop go immediately to Rock and Roll. This system will be tested this year because the 7 year old wants to do Jedi Training which means heading in another direction as soon as we get in to sign up.

We decided to FP TSM and RD RnR. Then we found out about the closure of one part of TSM so I'm glad we have that. We're going at a slower time, so hopefully we can get more than one ride on RnR.
