Toy Story Mania

Well, there are more AP holders but less non-AP people on weekdays. Plus the AP holders will be at DCA and not DL if TSMM has opened. All it really means is visit DCA amd TSMM on blackout days if possible during this time. I doubt it will affect DL very much.

I am guessing this puts a big crimp in the usual touring strategy of hopping to DCA late morning, eh? We'll be in the parks Mon, June 2 - Wed, June 4 ... none of which are blackout days. I hate crowds anyway - get anxious - so this making me feel seriously panicky (and melodramatic :-) )

I haven't subscribed to ridemax because I am still so far out but I wonder, in light of the circumstances, whether it makes sense to even do it? Will ridemax take a special event such as a new ride opening into their itinerary calculations (I am assuming it's personalized for actual dates which is why the plans aren't available until a month out but I don't know it to be fact either)? Thanks.

Without TSMM then this is a non-issue. Most of the year AP holders are not blacked out on weekdays. With TSMM then the Paradise Pier area will be more crowded than typical weekdays at this time of year. But the big hitter will be on Sundays which are not blacked out for the SoCal APs.

If you do not want to ride TSMM then I do not think this is a big deal. Just do what you were planning. If you want to ride TSMM then you should do it first thing at park opening or at park closing. My two cents.

I'm really not that worried about it. School is still in that week for most kids and I doubt people will pull their kids out of school when they could just go the week after when school is out and the AP's still aren't blacked out.

With the week of Nemo, the crowds weren't bad at all. Yes the Nemo line was CRAZY long, but we felt like we had the rest of the park to ourselves for several hours in the morning. And it was never really all that bad even in the evening. I've seen it worse (like in Oct!). So I think it will probably make a difference, but not that much (hopefully! :)).

Thanks for the input!

I don't think lines will be as crazy as they were for Nemo.I personally think the nostalgia and novelty of the submarines being back was a much bigger deal than TSMM.Plus there was a huge media campaign behind it.I can see long lines but not Nemo like.We will be there June 7-11.We were also there for Nemo opening. It was a bit much but if you got there right at opening you were under an hour on non-ee days.

Having seen the AP contest for TSMM, I wondered if the soft opening that has been rumored is still on? I will be there from 5/30- 6/4 and really would like to have my nephews & nieces ride it as it will be their first visit (Aunt has no desire to go & we had to beg to let them come). Since the contest is for the second week in June, does that mean the soft opening will be later than Memorial Day weekend as originally thought?

Soft openings are after the AP and CM preview..
So the lottery for AP's is June 10-13th. And only AP holders and thir AP holder guests can go on the ride. My kids go to go on Nemo last year inthe preview and they did not even wait.

We put in for the 4 of us for all four days so we will see what happens. I will pull my DS6 out of school for the day to be able to ride it early..
