Toy Story Mania, rides with moving platforms

I have been on Toy Story Mania a few times, but I don't remember exactly what the car was like. My dad uses a wheelchair and cannot stand on his own. Some rides we have no trouble helping him transfer (like Soarin'), and some rides it just cannot be done--Norway boats, for example, are too low. I can get him in, but I can't get him out! So does anyone remember what the car is like so I know if we should try it or not?

Second question--for rides with moving platforms, like Spaceship Earth and Haunted Mansion, will they stop the platform so my dad can board?

TSM has a special boarding area where they take a car out of the regular line to a special platform so there is no time pressure for loading or unloading.

And all the moving platforms except TTA can be slowed down, and all except TTA and Peter Pan can be stopped if needed.

The FAQs are stickied or click on Cheshire Figment's signature link.

That is a more recent thread on Toy Story Mania and has a video link that shows the line and ride.

Is a very long and merged thread with some very good info.

The ride would allow him to stay in his wheelchair.

This shows how he would drive in the back of the vehicle and be able to shoot Zurg from his chair. One person would be able to be in the vehicle with him. This vehicle can also be configured for two people because some people who can walk do not have the ability to yank on the cord so they get to pound on the button.

Actually the way TSMM is set up for people with disabilities it is possible to load his wheelchair with him in it into one of the cars. If you go to this thread you will see it is all about TSMM with photos.

We have ridden TSM with DD in her wheelchair about 5 or 6 times not.
The TSM wheelchair car works very well. It is easy to get the wheelchair in (in fact the CMs take care of that).

If you go to the 3rd post of the disABILITIES FAQs thread, you will find some links to information and past threads. One of them is about attractions with moving walkways.
As was already posted, with the exception of Peter Pan and TTA, all the moving walkways can be slowed or stopped. In our experience, they usually start out by slowing the moving walkways and only stop it if necessary. Most people can handle the ride with the walkway slowed, so that's why they do that. If you need it to come to a complete stop, you need to tell the CM when you get to the boarding area. Without you saying something, they won't know.
