Townhouse we are renting sold in May

We're checking in to a townhouse we rented in Windsor Hills this Wednesday. I just googled the address and found the townhouse was sold just a few weeks ago. Should I be concerned or make backup plans? Surely when people sell rental homes they transfer the rentals?

I would contact the rental and have a back up. If the house is sold there is no guarantee they will keep your rental. Did your rental contract have anything in it about sell of the house?

I don't think so. I will go back and check. I did email them. Still waiting to hear back. And planning a back up. :-O

Have a backup plan.

In process of purchasing beach rental property - but we are not going to rent it out. It has been rented for July and all of next winter. Nothing will not transfer to us. Unit is rented via a rental company so the company will have to relocate them. I won't be taking chances though.... and changing all locks.

Yikes! So I found the agreement and it states:

In the unlikely event that we have to cancel your reservatin due to any unforeseen circumstances whatsoever, we will endeavour to place you in another vacation home, managed by our property manager, of similar standard in the same resort area. In the unlikely event that this is not possible we will refund all monies paid and under no circumstances will any additional compensation be paid.

I checked the calendar and our dates are actually blocked off for another townhouse they own, that is NOT showing sold. I tried to book the most recently updated. It looks like they have shifted folks around and the newest updated townhouse has the most open space, so I HOPE their intent is just to put us in another home they own. I'm still waiting to hear back, but meanwhile looking to see what else is available this late.

Worst case scenario, we end up at POFQ. I can handle that, but i want my $ back if that's the case!

Okay, good news. We are all set. We have been moved to a different townhouse. Some other poor soul may not be as lucky!
