Just wondering about using a town car service with grocery store stop...what have you liked, what have you not liked, how long did it take to get to the resorts after your plane landed. Are you glad you used a town car service? I'm not sure what company we will use there seems to be a few different one, mostly I just want to know about experiences using town car service. Thanks

Wow are all the grocery stores that expensive that the town cars stop at?

I guess those companies that offer a "Free" grocery stop/wait time, don't like waiting at a grocery store for free, that's their problem. The normal wait time for a town car is $40.00-$45.00 per hour.

I haven't had an issue with any drivers that stopped for the free grocery stop. All my drivers have been more than willing to stop for the alloted time. Only in once case did my driver give me any grief. It was Thanksgiving Day and although I had asked repeatedly if it would be an issue, I was told no, that I could stop for incidentals. But, the driver did not stop, saying no place was open on T-Day.....I'm sure there were convenience stores open, but he didn't much care. And yes, I did inform the company of that situation.
One other instance my flight was several hours late..our driver asked if we would mind stopping at a convenience store, right on the way rather than go off the beaten path since he was now running very late. No problem for us.

I have used Sunray transportation several times. I have neber had a problem on my free grocery stop. We have gotten better at finding things in the Publix. The grocery stop has always been at the Publix near SeaWorld.

Publix-Williamsburg Town Center
5350 Central Florida Pkwy
Orlando, FL 32821-8772
Main: (407) 239-0844
Pharmacy: (407) 238-1960

I haven't found the prices to be much different from home. I always manage to stick a couple of coupons in my bag for things that I know that I am going to buy. There is a link to their weekly ad on their website

A grocery stop usually takes about 15 - 40 minutes and it is done free gratis. Most town cars will stop at the Publix in Williamsburg which has about the best prices around. It sounds like you went to an Albertson or Goodings, close to Disney, which are expensive stores. Some will use the Walmart on the way to Disney, but you have to pick your hours or passengers will wait in the check out line 15 to 20 minutes. If you arrive before noon that is a good time to hit the Walmart. Most other times they are very busy.

Forgot about the time. I have streamlined my grocery stop to about 15-20 minutes. We are typically at the resort about 45 minutes after we land. Of course, that all depends on the luggage situation at MCO.
I do know that we skipped the grocery stop for our March trip. Instead, I had Sunray stop at BCV to drop our luggage and then take us to Wide World of Sports for a spring training game. We walked thru the gates at WWoS about 55 minutes after we landed.

We used Sunray in December and did a grocery stop. We stopped at Publix and I was in and out in under 10 minutes, our driver was shocked. But I only wanted bottled water and cereal bars so I wasn't loading up on a lot of things and I found them very quickly.

It was great as we often used these for breakfast in our room in the morning and it saved time and $$$.

Love Sunray btw, using them again in March. Friendly, professional, clean cars, helpful, all what I would want in a car service.

Another :thumbsup2 for Sunray. We had a grocery stop at Publix in April and oldest dd and dh ran in and out in 15 minutes (driver had a list of what was in each aisle-made it SO much easier!!).

Clean car, great service, great driver!!!!! :cloud9:

We will be using them when we go again!!!

I have heard alot of good things about Sunray thus far. I had started a thread also. Looks like Sunray is winning so far with good responses!

We are a family of 5 and we were picked up in the SUV (3 rows of seats) plenty of room and free booster for ds(5) I think it was a Chevy Suburban.

Did you use the service for roundtrip or one way? Just checking on the cost. pirate:

We have used Ed from Taxi-MCO. We are a family of 4 (sometimes 5 if our nephew is along) and we prefer a large SUV to a towncar anyday! Especially when its the same price! :thumbsup2

Noting quite like a waiting SUV (AC already blasting) carseats already strapped in to start of your WDW vacation right.

We have never had an issue with the Grocery stop and have never felt rushed in any way and have never been charged extra for it.

Would highly recommend Ed and his super comfy Chevy Suburban if you are considering a towncar service. Ed is also so knowledgeable about most things Disney which adds so much and makes you feel as if its so much more than just a "car service.."
