Hello,

My DF and I will be travelling to WDW for our honeymoon in August and are considering renting a towncar instead of waiting for ME. We would love some input as to the differnt companies available. I have seen Mears, Happy Limo and Tiffany Town Car. Any suggestions?

The towncar companies that get a lot of chatter here on the boards are..
1. FL Tours ( a DIS board sponsor)
2. Lorden Transportation
3. Tiffany Towncar
4. Sunray
5. Berkeley Edwards Transportation

I myself have used FL Tours and Tiffany Towncar and had good experiences with both.

Yes, those companies get a lot of chat on the rooms because they are sponsors and advertisers.

I use Absolute Ride Limousine
www.absoluteride.com
and have never had a problem with them. They have always been accommodating. Carlos is a great guy to deal with. I have used them for my kids proms also and they have been very reliable.

We used Tiffany in 2000 and LOVED the experience! If I remember right we got a coupon on their website to use too. And one of the websites I frequent (can't remember which now) had them listed as a sponser and there was a discount code I think.

Now we use ME ... but if that were ever taken away, we wouldn't hesitate to go back to Tiffany. :thumbsup2

As far as the DIS boards go..only FL Tours is an advertiser/sponsor. None of the other companies I have mentioned are affiliated, in any way, with the DIS boards. Other boards perhaps. Just wanted to be clear about that!!

Thank you. By the way - Tiffany Town car got sold last year, so I don't know how they are doing now. Used them a couple of times before moving to Florida and small world- my husband and kids joined a bowling league and were partnered up with the woman who owned it. She sold it about 18 months ago.

The companies below have towncar's, they all are respected for their quality and reliability.

Carey
Starline
Trans Orlando
GNS
Showtime
Dove
Select

I'm sure you can web search their websites.

We used Star Transportation - for exactly the same reason - we wanted to get to WDW ASAP! They were great. We did end up splurging on the limo, rather than the town car, but they have both. You can find them on the web - rates are posted and gratuities are included.

My vote is for tiffany town car i have always used them whenever i have came to disney and even when i came down on christmas eve or christmas day they always found a convenience store to make some sort of grocery stop for us.I would definitely put tiffany at the top of my list any day.

We used FL tours in January and had no complaints. Liked the driver who picked us up better than the one who took us back to the airport. He was just much more friendly and outgoing than the second driver. FL tours also allow you a complementary grocery stop at Publix if you need it. They have a great list that you can download which has a breakdown as to which items are on which aisles. It was great. I wrote my grocery list out aisle by aisle and had no problems getting the shopping done in the allotted time. I believe they gave us an hour to do our grocery run. Then dropped us off in front of our resort. It was so nice to be dropped off curbside at the airport for the return home. Next time I go, I may try out ME just to see how it goes. Most people have no complaints about ME either.

A BIG vote for Sunray. Bob did a great job, was very friendly and helpful. Have used Tiffany in the past, but rate Sunray a notch above. Sunray will be my first choice from now on.

We used Sunray in December based on many, many positive reviews I found here and on another board. Honestly I never found one negative.

Our experience was great! Friendly, professional, helpful, clean and nice vehicles. We already have them booked for our March trip.

I am using Berkley Edwards, as I posted this question a while back and he came HIGHLY recommended by many posters. I will let you know when I return a week from Tuesday! He has a web site too. It was very easy to set it all up through email.

Here is the link to the list of all authorized vendors from the MCO website:

Many of them have websites if you google them. You can also search them by name here and on other sites to see what reviews you come up with.

Used Florida Tours on our last trip and were quite happy with them. (We had a delay due to thunderstorms when we arrived - even though the plane arrived safely at the gate, we had to wait on the plane nearly an hour before the ground crew was allowed to hook the jetway to the plane! The airport would not allow the ground crew onto the tarmac until the lightening cleared up. We called FL Tours on the cell phone to let them know the delay, and they were very accommodating.)
