Just back, went to mgm rode tot for the first time since 2001. I thought the ride suspended you outside the main building for a time? or am I wrong and the ride has not been changed?

The only changes in Tower of Terror have been the drop sequences. The current version has four different drop sequences that the computer can choose from. Otherwise everything else is the same.

You will either pass or be suspended just inside a large open upper story window overlooking the park (depending on the ride sequence you get).

has anyone went throught the line, right up to when you get on the elevator, without any intention on going on the ride part, and taking the chicken exit?
I want to see the rest of it but i am sure DS7 and myself would NOT LIKE the drop

We have waited in line and exited just before everyone boards the elevators. Just ask a CM to guide you to the exit. It will take you out to where the ride unloads.
The TOT never suspended you outside of the ride itself. The doors open up and you are able to see outside....then they proceed to drop ya It's a blast

When my daughter was younger, around 8, she wouldn't ride it, so we gave her to a CM at the "chicken" exit. When we got off, they had her greeting people in a bell-hop costume as they exited the elevator. They gave us a picture, and she still remembers it 10 years later. She still won't try the ride.

What a great story! I love it that they had her in costume by the time you came out! That must be a fond memory for you.

In December DW did the chicken exit, but for my bday she has said that she would ride it with me for me.

Can't wait for that picture...
