Okay, I have a question. I LOVE Rock'n'Roller Coaster but Tower of Terror seems very scary to me. I live in the roller coaster capitial of the world and am more then used to moving fast and going down. Not saying that I like it just saying I am used to it. I can handle just about anything as long as I don't feel it letting go of me. I like the feeling of knowing that the machine is holding on to me. (Weird I know but I have had some bad experences with rides that do down...like falling out of them!) Can somebody give me details on Tower of Terror? Do you feel/hear it let go? It is scarier then RNR or not? Help!

If you've been on the ride a few times you will know when its about to drop. You can feel it drop just a tad and your stomach will jump a little bit. Then it drops completely.

You are securely strapped into the ride. You have a seatbelt that will not unlock under any circumstances.

Is it a aaaaahhhhhhhhh ride or is it like Rock'n'Roller Coaster where the whole trill is moving fast and you lose your stomach? Is it an out of control fall or is it like everything else Disney and is mostly effects? Do you fall fast or just fall? (Does that make sence?) Is it like the AK rapids ride where it is the same speed all the way through or do you excelerate? I can't think of a way to make myself clear...do you feel like the ride is still attached or do you feel that the cables have really snapped and you are going to die?

You do not feel like the cables are gonna break or anything....but you do feel like you're falling. You do fall fast. Last time I went, it dropped you twice,; it went all the way up and then dropped you halfway, then took you back up and dropped you all the way. It might of changed since then, though.

I was really scaried at first but you can sort of tell when your going to drop. The drops are different every time and it feels like you lose your stomach, but it's really fun. If you don't like dropping, I wouldn't go on this.

I forgot: Don't go on it if you are afraid of heights. When you get to the top, the doors open and you can see the whole park. I thought this was cool, but I'm not afraid of heights and some ppl are.

deffinatly dont go on it if your afraid of hieghts the cables dont seem like there coing to snap at all and it doesnt go in an order of falls sometimes it drops it twice some times three times idk it it drops any more but it isnt allways the same

if u do end up going on it u should bring like a penny and hold it flat in the palm of your hand and when you drop watch it go up it is awsome my aunt had us do that once it was really :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I would say go on it even if you are afraid of heights. You're far enough back from the window that its cool.

Just go on it, if you pee your pants, it means you were scared, or you have a serious bladder control problem.

If you don't, get back in line and do it again.

lol WDWHunk. You sound to much like me. That is why I ate sushi, if I gagged I would never have to eat it again but I had to try it once or I might never know that I like it, it also got alot of points for my team.

I am in no way afraid of heights so I think the view would be awesome I just have problem if it truely feels like you are going to die.

Are any of you scared of roller coasters? Just trying to compair.

Odd question, is there any ride you can compair TOT to? Like for example if Body Wars makes you sick, so will Star Tours.

Thanks for all the help! I am also scouting for the rest of the people who are going to be in my party so...I think the eight year old is sssooooo staying off.

I love personally love coasters, as does everyone in my family so I can't give you any feedback on a noncoaster lover who has been on TOT...

I can, however compare it to a couple of different rides. It's a lot like the Demon Drop at SFOG, and Fearfall at IOA. Take the smoothness and feeling of the Fearfall, and the concept of Demon Drop, and throw them together.

I'm the biggest chicken ever. Roller coasters scare the crap out of me. I went on RNR and it was ok but I would say I was scared. I went on TOT and at first I was really scared, I don't like heights. After the first drop I was fine. When I was there last summer they dropped us 6 times every time we were on the ride. I'd have to say I was much more scared on RNR.

I am the total oposite of you i love the tot but i an scared to ride rnr but next year my friend is going and she loves roller coasters so i guess i will try it then.

I used to always get nervous right b4 I went on ToT. One time i actually chickened out b/c of it, and missed an awesome ride! It's actually funny to look at the pic I have from only a a year and a half ago, i was scared soo bad! But after going on it a few times, I got over it. You know when it's gonna drop b/c its pitch black and nothing is happening. Then u drop. and then u shoot back up to the top, and the doors open, then u drop again.

when i went wit band last year, it was so funny, cuz when it was black, and when the doors opened, me n my friends screamed out "We're gonna die!"

Ahh, somebody from Sandusky. I live about 45 minutes west of Sandusky. If you have ever been on Power Tower at Cedar Point, its 1/2 the size, and 1/4 the fright. Tower of Terror is a rather calm ride in my opinion. I have been on it several times when there have been children 5 or 6 years old and they are fine. Its not a scary ride, but the ride leading up to the drop is pretty cool. Just try it once, its worth it, even if it seems scary.

have you ever been on one of those frog hop things where you "hop" up and down? that's what i would compare this ride to except you drop all the way down each time, you're in a closed elevator, and it's a lot farther. i went on it when i was there in october. it dropped six times. that was the first time i went on and the only time i got to because i waited untill the last minute to finally decide to go on. don't do that. do it in the beginning of the day so if you don't like it, you're done and if you do like it, you'll have more time to ride it again. i was scared to go on because i, too, don't like the feeling of falling with nothing holding you. but i loved it. the ride is really smooth and you're not jerked or anything at all. if you're scared, try holding on to your seatbelt. that's what i did the first couple drops. it helps having something to hold on to. you will jump out of your seat. you first go into a briefing room where they show you a short video about the twilight zone. the whole thing is really built up before the drops. when you get in the elevator, they take you up a couple of floors and the doors open up and they show the people getting struck by lighting. then you go up a couple more floors and your seats start moving from the elevator you were in to another one. this is the one you'll be dropping in. you go up to the very top and it opens up so you can see the whole park. if you do close your eyes i would advise you to open them up for this, its really cool. you sit there for a few seconds (the time you sit there is random and it changes every time) then you jump up a little bit and then there's the drop. when you're going back up you can breathe a sigh of relief because you survived and then enjoy the rest of the ride.

Okay, you guys answered it for me! I can not do the free fall feeling. I was on a ride that had the free fall feeling and do to a human error I ended up flying out of the front part of the car (my dad caught my legs and pulled me back in but only after I had cracked a couple ribs). Ever since then rides like that have been out. I can handle going upside down and roller caosters that have things that I can hold on to so I can't fly out but lap belts that I can't hold on to if they unlatch or no belts at all kinda freak me out...okay, royaly freak me out if I haven't been on the ride before. With a lap belt AND a free fall feeling I fear I will be a total jitter bug the rest of the day. Thank you for all your help! Maybe I will try it during the 2005 trip!

Tower of Terror is not that Scary. Tip:As soon asyou hear someone say "The Twilight Zone" hold on, 1 sec. later you will drop. I've been on the ride 30 Times in the past 9 years and I LOVE it.

unfortunally, I HATE T.O.T:( but u may love it! i've neva been on rock'in rollar coaster, i will on Jan 31!!!!!! lol it just feels weird 2 me. if u have eva gotten ona drop zone or anything you would prolly like it. although, the have a lap~bar insted of a harness
(like the kind on rock'in rollar coaster) when i got on it, it broke down & me & my mom were stuck in the dark 4 about 30 or 35 min. in the dark. but i knew we were not going to fall, because
we were onley on the 5th story. i got really scared then:earseek:
so we had to get out and WALK through the rest of the part. but they gave us a fastpass to come back @ 1:00:wave2:

mal0808, LOL. I have so been there, done that. TTA died while we were on it. We were perched up there for about 1.5 hours. It died in Space Mountain and we got to watch them get pulled off and then we went outside and sat there for a little while. Thank heavens there was some Disney humor in the speech or I might have gotten angry. Then this guy came up and helped us walk off. The only problem was looking down. You needed to because there were BIG holes in the track and if you didn't watch the groud and where you were going you were going to have a sore ankle.

WDWMom, 30 times!!! Wow! I have some rides like that but...WOW!

Depending on what the people in my party want to do I might do it. If the friend I have down there with us want to ride it I will be more then happy to ride it with her...and most likely hurt her hand like she has done to mine in the past but I would do. If nopbody else is going to ride it I am not going to go on it by myself more so since I might have problems with the freefall and freaking about flying out. Thanks again for all the help! Feel free to keep it coming!

i hate anything with drops...although im definitely getting better. Rockin Roller Coaster is definitely better than TOT for me. i tried TOT once, got bribed on another time, and will prolly never ever go on again. Although i hated it, i definitely felt safe...although i heard they replaced the bars with seatbelts and i like something to grab onto. its definitely worth a shot tho, you might like it.

and the drops arent that easy to memorize because there are about 5 different drop sequences and you never kno which one you'll get
