We will be travelling to disney for the first time in a month or so. None of us have even been to disney so we don't know much about the rides. My cousin will be 3 monts pregnant and wants to know if it is safe to go on the attraction tower of terro. Is it a jerky ride and is it safe for a pregnant person. Someone described it as a feeling of a plane in turbulence to us, is this accurate?

Not "rough" at all, but it IS a bit like dropping/rising/dropping (very, very quickly) in a plane.

There are warnings about the usual conditions (heart problems, neck problems, PREGNANCY, etc.).

Up to an individual to decide if a thrill-ride is appropriate.

Well, TOT is actually a VERY smooth ride. However, it is sort of intense.

Personally I would never recommend someone pregnant to go on thrill rides. To me, the baby is #1 and the risk is not worth it.

With that said...............the main danger points will be the free-fall and more than anything, the force when the fall stops (the force down on the seat) and when the elevator shoots back up.

I personally would stay away.

however the coolest part is the queue, and she can go through the queue all the way up to the ride and they will allow her to exit to the waiting area without riding.

I wouldn't compare Tower of Terror to turbulence in a plane at all. Turbulence has never made me cry. I'm not a real thrill-ride person, and a six year old who went on with me did perfectly fine, but I will never go on it again. A plane wouldn't be anywhere in my description of this ride. Think falling straight down from a high height faster than gravity would pull you down. If you like thrill rides, do it - but don't expect anything like turbulence.

Almost any E-Ticket is not safe for a pregnant woman. Soarin' might be the only one that's okay.

I agree, being a person who found one ride on TOT more than enough, I now go through the entire queue with the others in my party who are riding and then use what they call the "chicken exit". Just tell the CM at the elevator loading area that you aren't riding, no problem, it's done all the time. Same goes for R'nRC. That pre-show is worth seeing also. You can wait for them in the gift shop.

I've been on Tower or Terror many times. It's my favorite Disney ride. I'm currently pregnant and there is no way you would get me on it. While I've never gotten sick riding it; it still stirs up your insides. While we're at rides to avoid I would also skip (even though I'm sure this goes without saying):

splash/space/and big thunder mountain railroads.
test track and mission space
rock n roller coaster
expedition everest

and those are just ones off the top of my head. Some people might call me paranoid, but there are plenty of things for a pregnant woman to do at Disney that is safe. Any rides that post pregnant women should not ride; I would stay away from, the warnings are on the ride for a reason.

Have a great trip!

I wouldn't take the chance going on any of those rides if I was pregnant. Last summer when we were there, I was 6 mos. prego. I stayed off and still felt like there were many things that i could do.
